Louisville Kings acquire QB Mike DiLiello from D.C., release RB Benny Snell

The Louisville Kings acquired quarterback Mike DiLiello from the D.C. Defenders for quarterback Jason Bean on Sunday. The Kings also released running back Benny Snell according to Kent Taylor.

Mike DiLiello is six foot one and weighs 215 pounds. The 26-year-old from Pembroke Pines, Florida, was drafted by the D.C. Defenders in the 2026 UFL Quarterback Draft. He appeared in one game for the Defenders in 2026.

DiLiello went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft and attended the Tennessee Titans rookie minicamp last week. The D.C. Defenders signed DiLiello on May 15, 2024. He did not play for the Defenders in 2024.

The Defenders re-signed DiLiello on October 16, 2024. In 2025, he completed 36 of 56 passes (64.3%) for 359 yards, two touchdowns, and 17 carries for 68 yards in six games when the Defenders won the UFL Championship over the Michigan Panthers.

Collegiately, DiLiello played two seasons at Florida Tech (2018-19), completing 141 of 233 passes (61%) for 1,773 yards, 12 touchdowns, six interceptions, 139 carries for 672 yards, and 11 touchdowns in 11 games for the Panthers.

Jason Bean is six foot two and weighs 196 pounds. The 26-year-old from Mansfield, Texas, was drafted by the Louisville Kings in the 2026 UFL Draft. In 2026, Bean completed 58 of 122 passes (47.5%) for 819 yards, four touchdowns, three interceptions, and four carries for 16 yards in four games.

The Memphis Showboats drafted Bean in the first round (1st pick) of the 2024 UFL College Draft. The Indianapolis Colts signed Bean as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, he completed 15 of 19 passes (78.9%) for 197 yards, one touchdown, one interception, 11 carries for 53 yards, and two rushing touchdowns in three preseason games.

Bean spent the season on the practice squad. In 2025, he completed 14 of 24 passes (58.3%) for 144 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and six carries for 28 yards in two preseason games. The Colts released him on August 26, 2025.

Collegiately, spent three seasons at North Texas (2018-20), completing 101 of 182 passes (55%) for 1,307 yards, 17 touchdowns, nine interceptions, 73 carries for 440 yards, and five rushing touchdowns in 16 games for the Mean Green.

Next, he transferred to Kansas (2021-23), completing 313 of 517 passes (61%) for 4,662 yards, 38 touchdowns, 17 interceptions, 177 carries for 904 yards, nine rushing touchdowns, one catch for -1 yard, and punted the ball one time for 41 yards in 35 games for the Jayhawks. He was named the 2023 Guaranteed Rate Bowl MVP after completing 19 of 28 passes (67.9%) for 449 yards, six touchdowns, and six carries for 21 yards against UNLV.

Benny Snell is five foot ten and weighs 225 pounds. The 28-year-old from Westerville, Ohio, was drafted by the Louisville Kings in the 2026 UFL Draft. In 2026, Bell had 31 carries for 72 yards and six catches for 53 yards in four games.

The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Snell in the fourth round (122nd pick) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He spent four seasons in Pittsburgh with 275 carries for 982 yards, seven rushing touchdowns, 17 catches for 114 yards, four kick returns for 38 yards, 24 tackles (14 solos, 10 assists), and two fumble recoveries in 63 games. The Detroit Lions signed Snell on August 10, 2023. In 2023, he had 14 carries for 64 yards and one catch for six yards in three preseason games. The Lions released him on August 29, 2023.

Collegiately, Snell spent three seasons at the University of Kentucky (2016-18) with 737 carries for 3,873 yards, 48 rushing touchdowns, 29 catches for 216 yards, eight kick returns for 125 yards, completed 3 of 7 passes (42.9%) for 59 yards, one touchdown, and one tackle (1 assist) in 39 games for the Wildcats. He was named a two-time First Team All-SEC (2017-18), Third Team All-American in 2018, Freshman All-American in 2016, and the MVP of the Citrus Bowl in 2019.
