The Repco Supercars Championship continued the weekend at Ruapuna Raceway on Saturday for Races 11 and 12 of the ITM Christchurch Super 440.

In Race 11, Brodie Kostecki started the race on the pole, with Matthew Payne starting second. Kostecki got off to a clean start, while Payne flared into a wheelspin and lost the second position to Kai Allen. On lap nine, Kostecki made an error at Turn 2, allowing Allen to get to his bumper.

Kostecki and Allen both made pit stops on lap 16, giving the lead to Matthew Payne. Kostecki beat Allen off pit road after Kostecki pitted for two tires, while Payne’s team changed all four tires. On lap 24, Kostecki, Allen, and Payne were in a three-car battle for the lead. However, Matthew Payne’s car lost a right rear tire and took him out of contention.

Brodie Kostecki would go on to win his fifth race of the season by 0.598 seconds over Kai Allen. Ryan Wood, Will Brown, and Broc Feeney rounded out the top five. Anton de Pasquale, Cameron Waters, Jayden Ojeda, Aaron Cameron, and Zach Bates completed the top ten. Click here for the full Race 11 finishing order.

In Race 12, Ryan Wood started the race on the pole, with Matthew Payne starting second. Payne would erase what happened to him in Race 11 by dominating Race 12. Payne held off Ryan Wood to get the lead in Turns 1 and 2. Payne would stretch his lead as the race went along.

Anton De Pasquale was the first to enter pit road. Everyone else soon followed, including Payne on lap 20. He only took two tires and exited pit road with a four-second lead over Ryan Wood. In the back, Wood had Feeney on his bumper. Feeney would take second away from Wood. This also allowed Brodie Kostecki to join them.

However, Kostecki went wide at Turn 4. Later, his car went off the track at Turn 3 and absorbed some dust, causing his engine temperatures to go up. With two laps to go, James Golding passed Ryan Wood for third place. Up front, Payne went on to win the race by 11.600 seconds over Broc Feeney.

James Golding, Ryan Wood, and Brodie Kostecki rounded out the top five. Anton De Pasquale, Kai Allen, Cameron Waters, Jack Le Brocq, and Rylan Gray completed the top ten. Click here to see the rest of the finishing order.

The ITM Christchurch Super 440 at Ruapuna Raceway concludes on Saturday at 5 pm on YouTube.
