The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series visited Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday night in the Suburban Propane 300. William Sawalich started the race on the pole, with Sheldon Creed starting second, and Kyle Larson started third.
William Sawalich led the opening 27 laps before losing the lead to Kyle Larson. Larson dominated the majority of the race, leading a race-high 230 of 300 laps and sweeping both stages. However, Larson ran out of momentum late in the race.
The race had eight cautions for 59 laps. Late in the race, Connor Zilisch powered past Larson for the lead. Zilisch led 24 laps and went on to win his first race of the season by 0.703 seconds over Kyle Larson. It was Zilisch’s 12th career O’Reilly Auto Parts Series win. Brent Crews, Justin Allgaier, and Carson Kvapil rounded out the top five.
Sheldon Creed, William Sawalich, Corey Day, Parker Retzlaff, and Taylor Gray completed the top ten. Check out the rest of the finishing order here. There were 13 lead changes, and the only drivers to not finish the race were Garrett Smithley (suspension) and Mason Maggio (engine). Justin Allgaier took home $100,000 in the first race of the Dash 4 Cash program.
The O’Reilly Auto Parts Series heads to Kansas Speedway next Saturday at 7 pm on The CW.
