Collegiately, Chapman spent three seasons at Austin Peay State University (2021-23) with 179 tackles (86 solos, 93 assists), 15 tackles for loss, four sacks, five interceptions for 30 yards, one touchdown, 14 pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 33 games for the Governors.
In 2023, he was named Second Team All-UAC after finishing the season with a career-high 73 tackles (37 solos, 36 assists), four tackles for loss, half a sack, two interceptions for 30 yards, one touchdown, and five pass breakups in 12 games.
Then, he transferred to the University of Texas-El Paso in 2024 with 75 tackles (35 solos, 40 assists), 12.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, two interceptions for 48 yards, two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 10 games for the Miners.
