The Dallas Renegades (2-0) hosted the St. Louis Battlehawks (1-1) on Tuesday night from Toyota Stadium.

In the first quarter, Dallas went on a six-play drive for 68 yards that resulted in quarterback Austin Reed throwing a short pass to Tyler Hudson for a seven-yard touchdown. Kicker Colton Theaker missed the extra point, and the Renegades led the Battlehawks 6-0.

For the rest of the first quarter, Dallas kicker Colton Theaker made a 48-yard field goal, and St. Louis kicker Tucker McCann made a 20-yard field goal. The Renegades led the Battlehawks 9-3 at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Dallas started the pull away when they went on a five-play drive for 71 yards that ended when quarterback Austin Reed threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to Greg Ward. They would get the two-point conversion to take a 17-3 lead at halftime.

In the third quarter, the only points scored were St. Louis kicker Tucker McCann making a 45-yard field goal. The Battlehawks trailed the Renegades 17-6 heading into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Dallas went on a 15-play drive for 76 yards when quarterback Austin Reed threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Vaughns for a 24-6 lead.

On the next series for St. Louis, they put together a 12-play drive for 65 yards after quarterback Brandon Silvers threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Neville. Silvers would connect with Hakeem Butler for the three-point conversion. The Battlehawks trailed the Renegades 24-15.

Late in the game, Dallas’ defense stopped St. Louis on fourth down. This allowed Dallas to put the game away. Quarterback Austin Reed threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Vaughns for a 31-15 lead with 1:50 left in the game to conclude a four-play drive for 52 yards. Dallas defensive back Shaun Wade intercepted Brandon Silvers in the end zone to end the game. The Dallas Renegades defeated the St. Louis Battlehawks 31-15.

Dallas had 327 yards on offense (240 yards passing, 87 yards rushing), 23 first downs, and the team was penalized eight times. Dallas quarterback Austin Reed completed 22 of 36 passes (61.1%) for 240 yards, four touchdowns, one interception, and one carry for -1 yard.

Running back Dae Dae Hunter had 10 carries for 67 yards. Wide receiver Tyler Vaughns led the receivers with 11 catches for 146 yards and three touchdowns, while Greg Ward made one catch for 12 yards and one touchdown. The defense made 48 tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, two interceptions, and eight pass breakups.

St. Louis had 224 yards on offense (186 yards passing, 47 yards rushing), 14 first downs, and the team was penalized seven times. Quarterback Brandon Silvers completed 22 of 39 passes (56.4%) for 186 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, and three carries for 16 yards.

Running back Kevon Latulas had four carries for 16 yards. Wide receiver Hakeem Butler made four catches for 56 yards, while Tyler Neville made one catch for 10 yards and one touchdown. The defense made 57 tackles, eight tackles for loss, one interception, four pass breakups, and one forced fumble.

Next Sunday, the Dallas Renegades host the Columbus Aviators at 12 pm on ABC, while the St. Louis Battlehawks host the Birmingham Stallions at 3 pm on ABC.
