The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series visited Rockingham Speedway on Friday afternoon in the Black’s Tire 200. Jake Garcia started the race on the pole, with Tanner Gray starting second.
Corey Heim started the race in seventh place. He dominated at Rockingham Speedway, leading a race-high 178 of 200 laps, including sweeping both stages. In the closing laps, he had Kaden Honeycutt right on his tail.
At one point, Honeycutt pulled side-by-side, but Heim used a lapped-down truck to retake the lead and win his second race of the season by 0.090 seconds. It was also his 25th career Truck Series win. In addition, Heim won a $150,000 payout in the Triple Truck Challenge.
Layne Riggs, Chandler Smith, and Stewart Friesen rounded out the top five. Grant Enfinger, Tyler Ankrum, Corey LaJoie, Ty Majeski, and Jake Garcia completed the top ten.
There were six lead changes and four cautions for 28 laps. On lap 61, Adam Andretti crashed in the backstretch, and on lap 167, Michael Christopher Jr. spun at Turn 2.
The Craftsman Truck Series visits Bristol Motor Speedway next Friday at 7:30 pm on FS1.
