The Toronto Argonauts placed defensive back Jaylen Jones on the retired list on Thursday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Jaylen Jones is six foot one and weighs 203 pounds. The 23-year-old from Richmond, Virginia, signed with the Toronto Argonauts on November 26, 2025.
The Los Angeles Chargers signed Jones as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. In 2025, Jones made one tackle (1 solo) in two preseason games. He was placed on injured reserve and was released on September 1, 2025.
Collegiately, Jones spent four seasons at Virginia Tech (2021-24) with 77 tackles (37 solos, 40 assists), 1.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions for 52 yards, 11 pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 43 games for the Hokies. In 2024, Jones had a career-high 40 tackles (17 solos, 23 assists), half a tackle for loss, three interceptions for 52 yards, and eight pass breakups in 12 games.
