The St. Louis Battlehawks re-signed defensive back Keylon Kennedy and placed defensive back Kameron Kelly on the injured reserve list on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Keylon Kennedy is five foot eleven and weighs 185 pounds. The 26-year-old from Daytona Beach, Florida, re-signed with the St. Louis Battlehawks on January 29, 2026. He attended training camp before the team released him on March 19, 2026.
The Vegas Vipers (XFL) drafted Kennedy in the first round (8th pick) in Phase 2 of the 2022 XFL Draft. In 2023, Kennedy made 40 tackles (34 solos, 6 assists), three tackles for loss, four pass breakups, two interceptions for 18 yards, and one forced fumble.
The St. Louis Battlehawks drafted Kennedy in the 2024 UFL Dispersal Draft. In 2024, Kennedy made five tackles (4 solos, 1 assist) in six games before he was placed on injured reserve and missed the rest of the season. The Battlehawks re-signed Kennedy on August 24, 2024, and released him on March 20, 2025.
The Edmonton Elks signed Kennedy on March 24, 2025. He attended training camp and was released on May 9, 2025.
Collegiately, Kennedy played one season at Fort Hayes State University in 2018 with 49 tackles (37 solos, 12 assists), two tackles for loss, and eight pass breakups in 12 games for the Tigers. He was named an All-MIAA Honorable Mention in 2018.
Then, Kennedy transferred to Garden City Community College (2020-21) with 35 tackles (23 solos, 12 assists), two tackles for loss, two interceptions, 10 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and three blocked kicks in 16 games for the Broncbusters.
Kameron Kelly is six foot two and weighs 205 pounds. The 29-year-old from Round Rock, Texas, made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) against the D.C. Defenders last Saturday.
The Dallas Cowboys signed Kelly as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2018. In 2018, he made six tackles (4 solos, 2 assists) in four preseason games. The Cowboys released him on September 1, 2018.
In 2019, Kelly played for the San Diego Fleet (AAF) with 19 tackles (15 solos, 4 assists), four interceptions for 22 yards, and one touchdown in 8 games. In the same year, he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on April 8, 2019. In 2019, he made 21 tackles (17 solos, 4 assists) and one pass breakup in 14 games.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Kelly on February 17, 2021. He played two seasons in Hamilton with 86 tackles, one tackle on special teams, 3 sacks, and 6 interceptions in 31 games. The San Antonio Brahmas signed Kelly on February 15, 2023. In 2023, he made 16 tackles (11 solos, 5 assists) and three pass breakups in nine games.
The St. Louis Battlehawks signed Kelly on January 22, 2024. He made 44 tackles (27 solos, 17 assists), one tackle for loss, three interceptions, five pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 10 games in 2024.
The Battlehawks re-signed Kelly on August 27, 2024. In 2025, he made 32 tackles (24 solos, 8 assists), two interceptions, and four pass breakups in 10 games. In the playoffs, he made four tackles (2 solos, 2 assists) against the D.C. Defenders in the XFL Conference Championship game.
Collegiately, Kelly played four seasons at San Diego State (2014-17) with 165 tackles (110 solos, 55 assists), eight tackles for loss, two sacks, two forced fumbles, 27 pass breakups, 10 interceptions, and six kick returns for 133 yards in 46 games for the Aztecs. He was named First Team All-MWC in 2017.
