Alex Palou clobbers the field to win at Barber Motorsports Park

The NTT IndyCar Series visited Barber Motorsports Park on Sunday afternoon in the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix. Alex Palou started the race on the pole, with David Malukas starting second.

Alex Palou clobbered the field, leading a race-high 79 of 90 laps. The only time he lost the lead was making his schedule pit stop three times. His pit stops allowed Graham Rahal to lead a lap, and Christian Lundgaard to lead 10 laps.

The race was caution-free. Alex Palou went on to win his second race of the season by 13.2775 seconds over Christian Lundgaard. It was Palou’s third win at Barber, and his 21st career win in IndyCar. With the win, Palou trails Kyle Kirkwood by two points in the championship standings.

Graham Rahal, David Malukas, and Kyle Kirkwood rounded out the top five. Marcus Armstrong, Scott Dixon, Santino Ferrucci, Marcus Ericsson, and Josef Newgarden completed the top ten. For the full finishing order, click here.

There was a total of 77 passes, of which 68 were for positions. Will Power was the most improved driver, starting the race in 26th place and finishing in 12th place. There were five lead changes among three drivers.

The NTT IndyCar Series will have a two-week break before its next race from the streets of Long Beach, California, for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 5:30 pm on Fox.
