The Houston Gamblers claimed defensive end Jah Joyner from the Dallas Renegades on Friday according to James Larsen.
Jah Joyner is six foot four and weighs 262 pounds. The 24-year-old from Danbury, Connecticut, was drafted by the Dallas Renegades in the 2026 UFL Draft. He attended training camp, and the Renegades released him on March 19, 2026.
The Las Vegas Raiders signed Joyner as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. In 2025, he made two tackles (2 solos) in three preseason games. The Raiders released him on August 25, 2025.
Collegiately, Joyner spent five seasons at the University of Minnesota (2020-24) with 66 tackles (35 solos, 31 assists), 16.5 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, nine pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 43 games for the Gophers.
In 2024, he had a career-high 32 tackles (12 solos, 20 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, seven pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 12 games. He was named a two-time All-Big Ten Honorable Mention (2023-24).
