The Ottawa Redblacks signed defensive back Abraham ‘Abe’ Camara on Wednesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Abraham ‘Abe’ Camara is six foot and weighs 190 pounds. A native of Alpharetta, Georgia, attended the Carolina Panthers rookie minicamp in 2025.
Collegiately, Camara spent two seasons at Coffeyville Community College (2019-20) with five tackles (2 solos, 3 assists), one tackle for loss, and one pass breakup in five games for the Red Ravens.
Then, Camara transferred to Texas Christian University (2021-24) with 150 tackles (101 solos, 49 assists), nine tackles for loss, one interception, 15 pass breakups, and three forced fumbles in 48 games for the Horned Frogs. In 2024, he was named a Big 12 Honorable Mention after finishing the season with a career-high 55 tackles (28 solos, 27 assists), six tackles for loss, six pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 13 games.
Camara attended West Forsyth High School, where in his senior season made 100 tackles, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two pass breakups. Camara received Player of the Game honors six times in his high school career. He was named First Team All-Region in his junior season as he finished the season with 94 tackles, seven tackles for loss, five pass breakups, and three interceptions.
