The Toronto Argonauts signed offensive lineman Cole De Magistris on Tuesday.
Cole De Magistris is six foot four and weighs 295 pounds. A native of Emerson, New Jersey, De Magistris began his collegiate career at Bates College (2021-23), where he was named a team captain for his final two years playing a total of 21 games for the Bobcats.
In 2021, he helped Bates break the program record for passing yards in one season. Bates averaged 17.7 points per game, 324.4 yards per game, 237.33 passing yards per game, 87.1 rushing yards per game, and 22 touchdowns.
Then, he transferred to Sacred Heart University (2024-25), where he played 23 games for the Pioneers. He was named a team captain as a senior. During his two years at SHU, the Pioneers won back-to-back Yankee Conference Cup Championships.
In 2025, De Magistris started 12 games. Sacred Heart averaged 28.6 points per game, 385.5 yards per game, 168.4 passing yards per game, 217.1 rushing yards per game, and 44 touchdowns. De Magistris and the offensive line helped quarterback Jack Snyder rank fifth in the FCS in completion percentage at 71.2 percent.
