The Houston Gamblers signed defensive back Major Burns on Tuesday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Major Burns is six foot two and weighs 209 pounds. The 23-year-old from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. In 2025, he played in one preseason game before suffering an injury. The Bears released him on August 21, 2025.

Collegiately, Burns spent one season at Georgia in 2020 with five tackles (3 solos, 2 assists) in six games for the Bulldogs. Then, he transferred to LSU (2021-24) with 203 tackles (98 solos, 105 assists), 11 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions for 35 yards, one touchdown, nine pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 39 games for the Tigers.

In 2023, he had a career-high 93 tackles (41 solos, 52 assists), three tackles for loss, one sack, one interception for 17 yards, one touchdown, and three pass breakups in 13 games. In 2024, he made 47 tackles (19 solos, 28 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries in 12 games.
