The Houston Gamblers placed defensive back Ra’Mello Dotson on the retired list on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Ra’Mello Dotson is six foot and weighs 183 pounds. The 24-year-old from Daytona Beach, Florida, was drafted by the Houston Gamblers in the 2026 UFL Draft.

The Las Vegas Raiders signed Dotson as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. The Raiders released him on July 22, 2025. The Carolina Panthers signed Dotson on July 25, 2025. In 2025, he played in three preseason games. The Panthers released him on August 25, 2025.

Collegiately, Dotson spent five seasons at Kansas (2020-24) with 177 tackles (139 solos, 38 assists), five tackles for loss, one sack, 12 interceptions for 231 yards, four touchdowns, 37 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 53 games for the Jayhawks.

In 2023, he was named a Big-12 Honorable Mention and Third Team All-American by the College Football Network after finishing the season with 48 tackles (37 solos, 11 assists), three tackles for loss, one sack, four interceptions for 90 yards, two touchdowns, and 15 pass breakups in 13 games.

In 2024, he was named First Team All-Big 12, Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Honorable Mention, Second Team All-American by Walter Camp and Third Team All-American by the Associated Press after finishing the season with 49 tackles (39 solos, 10 assists), one tackle for loss, five interceptions for 58 yards, two touchdowns, 12 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 12 games.
