The Toronto Argonauts signed offensive lineman Phillip Wilder on Tuesday.
Phillip Wilder is six foot five and weighs 315 pounds. The 23-year-old from Jonesboro, Georgia, began his collegiate career at Southeast Missouri State (2020-22), playing left tackle and right tackle in 18 games for the Redhawks.
In 2021, he started seven games, including six at left tackle and one at right tackle. In 2021, Southeast Missouri State averaged 27 points per game, 360.6 yards per game, 165.5 passing yards per game, 195.1 rushing yards per game, and 35 touchdowns.
In 2022, he played in four games, of which two were starts. Southeast Missouri State averaged 35.6 points per game, 468.2 yards per game, 242.6 passing yards per game, 225.6 rushing yards per game, and 48 touchdowns.
Then, he transferred to Cincinnati (2023-24), playing right tackle in 15 games for the Bearcats. In 2024, he played eight games, of which seven were starts at right tackle. Cincinnati averaged 25.2 points per game, 420.6 yards per game, 236.5 passing yards per game, 184.1 rushing yards per game, and 37 touchdowns. He also helped pave the way for running back Corey Kiner to rush for a second consecutive 1,000-yard season.
