Ottawa Redblacks sign WR Andy Isabella, place WR Robert Lewis on retired list

The Ottawa Redblacks signed wide receiver Andy Isabella and placed wide receiver Robert Lewis on the retired list on Thursday.

Andy Isabella is five foot nine and weighs 188 pounds. The 29-year-old from Mayfield, Ohio, re-signed Isabella on December 20, 2024. He attended training camp, and the Battlehawks released him on March 20, 2025.

The Arizona Cardinals drafted Isabella in the second round (62nd pick) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He played four seasons in Arizona with 33 catches for 447 yards, three touchdowns, five carries for nine yards, eight kick returns for 166 yards, and one punt return for one yard in 39 games.

The Cardinals released him on October 4, 2022. Next, he signed with the Baltimore Ravens on October 10, 2022. He had one carry for one yard in two games. The Ravens released him on July 25, 2023. Then, Isabella signed with the Buffalo Bills on July 29, 2023. He appeared in two games. In the 2024 preseason, Isabella made one catch for 15 yards and three kick returns for 55 yards in three games. The Bills released him on August 27, 2024.

The St. Louis Battlehawks signed Isabella on October 2, 2024. They released him on October 24, 2024, and he signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on October 25, 2024. He spent a couple of weeks on the practice squad before the Steelers released him on November 5, 2024.

Collegiately, Isabella played four seasons at UMass (2015-18) with 231 catches for 3,526 yards, 30 touchdowns, 40 carries for 342 yards, two touchdowns, 23 kick returns for 443 yards, nine punt returns for 77 yards, and four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist) in 24 games for the Minutemen.

He was named a two-time First Team All-Independent by Phil Steele, All-ECAC Second Team, First Team All-American by FWAA, Walter Camp, and AFCA, and the winner of the George H. “Bulger” Lowe Award (top player in New England; Gridiron Club of Greater Boston).

Robert Lewis is five foot ten and weighs 185 pounds. The 24-year-old from Covington, Georgia, signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. In 2025, Lewis made one catch for 13 yards in one preseason game.

The Vikings released him on August 24, 2025. The Ottawa Redblacks signed Lewis to the practice squad on October 9, 2025. The Redblacks released him on October 25, 2025. Ottawa re-signed Lewis on October 26, 2025.

Collegiately, Lewis played four seasons at Georgia State (2020-23) with 90 catches for 1,019 yards, 10 touchdowns, four carries for 33 yards, six kick returns for 130 yards, five tackles (4 solos, 1 assist), and one forced fumble in 32 games for the Panthers.

He was named Third Team All-Sun Belt in 2023 after making 61 catches for 618 yards, four touchdowns, and six kick returns for 130 yards in 10 games. Then, he transferred to Auburn in 2024 with 16 catches for 155 yards in 11 games for the Tigers.
