The Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed defensive back Nick Hallett to a one-year contract through the 2026 season on Wednesday.
Nick Hallett is five foot nine and weighs 190 pounds. The 32-year-old from London, Ontario, made two tackles, nine tackles on special teams, and one forced fumble in 14 games in 2025.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers drafted Hallett in the seventh round (61st pick) of the 2019 CFL Draft. In his rookie season, he made 13 tackles on special teams and one forced fumble in 18 games when the Blue Bombers won the 107th Grey Cup over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
In 2021, he made seven tackles, 16 tackles on special teams, and one forced fumble in 14 games when the Blue Bombers won their second consecutive Grey Cup over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. A year later, he had a career-high 24 tackles, 11 tackles on special teams, one interception, and one forced fumble in 18 games.
In 2023, he made three tackles and led the team with 20 tackles on special teams in 18 games. In 2024, Hallett made six tackles, 11 tackles on special teams, one sack, and one touchdown in 18 games.
Collegiately, Hallett played six seasons at the University of Toronto (2013-18) with 133 tackles (115 solos, 37 assists), four tackles for loss, one sack, four interceptions for 72 yards, 18 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 29 games for the Varsity Blues.
