The Ottawa Redblacks signed linebacker Michael Brodrique to a one-year contract for the 2026 season on Wednesday.

Michael Brodrique is six foot three and weighs 227 pounds. The 27-year-old from Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac, Quebec, made one tackle on special teams in six games. He missed most of the season with a shoulder injury.

The Edmonton Elks drafted Brodrique in the first round (2nd pick) of the 2023 CFL Draft. In 2023, he made eight tackles on special teams in 18 games. In 2024, he made two tackles, 10 tackles on special teams, and one sack in 14 games.

Collegiately, Brodrique spent five seasons at the University of Montreal (2018-22) with 85 tackles (62 solos, 13 assists), 14 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, one interception for 65 yards, and two pass breakups in 24 games for the Carabins. He was named a two-time RSEQ All-Star and Second Team U Sports All-Canadian in 2021.
