The B.C. Lions released linebacker Chase Tataryn on Wednesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Chase Tataryn is five foot ten and weighs 212 pounds. The 22-year-old from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, was drafted by the B.C. Lions in the sixth round (50th pick) of the 2025 CFL Draft. In 2025, he made one tackle and one tackle on special teams in one preseason game against the Calgary Stampeders.
The Lions released him on May 29, 2025, and returned to Alberta for his final collegiate season. The Lions re-signed Tataryn on November 20, 2025.
Collegiately, Tataryn played five seasons at the University of Alberta (2021-25) with 232 tackles (164 solos, 68 assists), 20.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, two interceptions, five passes defended, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 41 games for the Golden Bears.
In 2025, he made 55 tackles (39 solos, 16 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception, two passes defended, and one fumble recovery in eight games.
