The B.C. Lions re-signed linebacker Max Rouyer to a two-year contract and signed defensive back Dawson Pierre to a two-year contract on Tuesday.
Maxime Rouyer is six foot one and weighs 225 pounds. The 31-year-old from Troyes, France, made two tackles on special teams in eight games in 2025.
The Edmonton Eskimos drafted Rouyer in the first round (4th pick) of the 2019 CFL European Draft. Rouyer played two seasons in Edmonton with four tackles on special teams in 18 games.
The Wroclaw Panthers of the European League of Football signed Rouyer in 2022. In 2022, he made 89 tackles (33 solos, 56 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, one touchdown, and one pass breakup in 12 games.
The B.C. Lions signed Rouyer on September 14, 2022. In 2022, he had one forced fumble in seven games. In 2023, he made one tackle and six tackles on special teams in 12 games. In 2024, Rouyer made seven tackles and 14 tackles on special teams in 16 games.
Collegiately, Rouyer played four seasons at McGill University (2015-18) with 107 tackles (63 solos, 44 assists), six tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and two pass breakups in 23 games for the Redbirds.
Dawson Pierre is six foot two and weighs 219 pounds. The 25-year-old from Longueuil, Quebec, made one tackle on special teams in six games in 2025. The Redblacks released him on February 4, 2026.
The Ottawa Redblacks drafted Pierre in the third round (22nd pick) in the 2024 CFL Draft. In 2024, he made four tackles and one forced fumble in nine games.
Collegiately, Pierre played four seasons at Concordia (2020-23) with 81 tackles (62 solos, 19 assists), one tackle for loss, one sack, three interceptions, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup in 23 games for the Stingers.
In 2023, Pierre made 26 tackles (20 solos, 6 assists), one tackle for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup in six games. Pierre was named an RSEQ All-Star in 2022.
