The Louisville Kings released defensive lineman Benning Potoa’e and Myjai Sanders, linebacker Shayne Simon, and defensive backs Isaiah Bolden and Quindell Johnson on Friday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Benning Potoa’e is six foot three and weighs 290 pounds. The 29-year-old from DuPont, Washington, signed with the Michigan Panthers on May 13, 2025. In 2025, he made six tackles (4 solos, 2 assists) and one sack in three games. The Panthers re-signed Potoa’e on July 4, 2025. Then, Michigan’s roster was transferred to Louisville.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Potoa’e as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2020. He was on the practice squad when Tampa Bay won Super Bowl LV. Tampa Bay released him on August 30, 2022. The Washington Commanders signed him on September 13, 2022.
Potoa’e played five career games with six tackles (2 solos, 4 assists) and one tackle for loss. In 2024, he made three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist) and one sack in three preseason games. The Commanders released him on August 17, 2024.
Collegiately, Potoa’e played four seasons at Washington (2016-19) with 117 tackles (70 solos, 47 assists), 20.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and three forced fumbles in 53 games for the Huskies.
