The Toronto Argonauts signed kicker Matt Ammendola on Friday.
Matt Ammendola is five foot nine and weighs 195 pounds. The 29-year-old from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on January 19, 2024. He attended training camp and was released on March 10, 2024.
The Carolina Panthers signed Ammendola on March 24, 2021. He also spent time with the New York Jets, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, Arizona Cardinals, and the Green Bay Packers. He made 24 of 35 field goals (68.6%) with a long of 49 yards, making 29 of 33 extra points (87.9%), 85 kickoffs for 5,186 yards, 55 touchbacks, six punts for 291 yards (48.5 AVG), and one tackle (1 solo) in 20 career games.
Collegiately, Ammendola spent four seasons at Oklahoma State University (2016-19) with 192 kickoffs for 11,795 yards (61.4 AVG), making 60 of 78 field goals (76.9%) with a long of 53 yards, and five tackles (4 solos, 1 assist) in 52 games for the Cowboys. He was named a four-time First Team Academic All-Big 12 and All-Big 12 Honorable Mention in 2019. He finished his career ranked third among all active players in the FBS with 359 career points scored.
