The Columbus Aviators released running back Raheem Blackshear and tight end Gee Scott Jr. on Thursday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Raheem Blackshear is five foot nine and weighs 190 pounds. The 27-year-old from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was drafted by the Columbus Aviators in the 2026 UFL Draft.
The Buffalo Bills signed Blackshear as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. In 2022, he had 24 carries for 116 yards, two rushing touchdowns, eight catches for 93 yards, five kick returns for 106 yards, three punt returns for 23 yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in three preseason games.
The Carolina Panthers signed Blackshear off of Buffalo’s practice squad on September 22, 2022. He played three seasons in Carolina with 52 catches for 203 yards, three touchdowns, 16 catches for 138 yards, 66 kick returns for 1,734 yards, two punt returns for 23 yards, and four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist) in 41 games.
In 2025, he had 14 carries for 43 yards, three catches for 12 yards, one kick return for 15 yards, and one punt return for two yards in three preseason games. The Panthers released him on August 26, 2025. He also spent time with the Tennessee Titans, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the New York Jets.
Collegiately, Blackshear spent three seasons at Rutgers (2017-19) with 211 carries for 912 yards, six rushing touchdowns, 80 catches for 810 yards, six touchdowns, 30 kick returns for 518 yards, and one punt return for -1 yard in 27 games for the Scarlet Knights. He was named a two-time Academic All-Big Ten.
Then, Blackshear transferred to Virginia Tech (2020-21) with 201 carries for 1,020 yards, eight rushing touchdowns, 43 catches for 403 yards, one touchdown, seven kick returns for 195 yards, and four punt returns for 23 yards in 24 games for the Hokies. He was named Third Team All-ACC by PFF College and was a 2022 Hulu Bowl Invitee.
Gee Scott Jr. is six foot three and weighs 238 pounds. The 25-year-old from Seattle, Washington, was drafted by the Columbus Aviators in the 2026 UFL Draft.
The New England Patriots signed Scott Jr. as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. In 2025, he played in three preseason games. He spent the season on and off the practice squad before the Patriots released him on October 14, 2025. The Washington Commanders signed Scott Jr. to the practice squad on December 16, 2025.
Collegiately, Scott Jr. spent five seasons at Ohio State University (2020-24) with 47 catches for 393 yards, four touchdowns, and one tackle (1 solo) in 48 games. In 2024, he made a career-high 27 catches for 253 yards and two touchdowns in 16 games.
