The Montreal Alouettes re-signed wide receiver Régis Cibasu on Wednesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Régis Cibasu is six foot three and weighs 232 pounds. The 32-year-old from Kinshasa, Zaire, made 14 catches for 80 yards in 18 games in 2025. In the Grey Cup playoffs, he made one catch for six yards.
The Toronto Argonauts drafted Cibasu in the third round (20th pick) of the 2018 CFL Draft, but returned to Montreal for his final season. He played one season in Toronto in 2019 with three tackles on special teams in three games.
The Montreal Alouettes signed Cibasu as a free agent on February 10, 2021. In 2023, he made seven catches for 101 yards, one touchdown, one kick return for 17 yards, one tackle, and five tackles on special teams in 18 games. In 2024, he made two tackles on special teams in six games. In four seasons with Montreal, Cibasu has made 23 catches for 189 yards, one touchdown, one kick return for 17 yards, five tackles on special teams, one tackle, and 19 tackles on special teams in 72 games.
Collegiately, Cibasu played five seasons at the University of Montreal (2014-19) with 183 catches for 2,231 yards, nine touchdowns, two carries for eight yards, 41 kick returns for 86 yards, 37 punt returns for 300 yards, and one touchdown in 38 games for the Carabins. He was named RSEQ First Team All-Star and the RSEQ Rookie of the Year in 2014.
