The D.C. Defenders re-signed wide receiver Keke Coutee on Wednesday according to the UFL Transactions page.
Keke Coutee is five foot eleven and weighs 180 pounds. The 29-year-old from Lufkin, Texas, signed with the D.C. Defenders on February 25, 2024. In 2024, he made 18 catches for 173 yards, nine carries for 81 yards, one rushing touchdown, and four punt returns for 42 yards in nine games.
The Houston Texans drafted Coutee in the fourth round (103rd pick) of the 2018 NFL Draft. He played three seasons in Houston with 83 catches for 941 yards, four touchdowns, five carries for 14 yards, one touchdown, five kick returns for 97 yards, and seven punt returns for 48 yards in 23 games.
The Indianapolis Colts signed Coutee on September 2, 2021. He played two seasons in Indianapolis with two catches for 25 yards, and 17 punt returns for 152 yards in ten games. He became a free agent after the 2022 season. The New Orleans Saints signed Coutee on June 15, 2023. The Saints released him on August 11, 2023.
The Miami Dolphins signed Coutee on August 13, 2023. In 2023, Coutee had three kickoff returns for 77 yards and three punt returns for 34 yards in two preseason games. The Dolphins released him on August 28, 2023.
Collegiately, Coutee played three seasons at Texas Tech (2015-17) with 159 catches for 2,424 yards, 17 touchdowns, eight carries for 17 yards, one touchdown, 16 kick returns for 412 yards, one touchdown, and one punt return for 14 yards in 37 games for the Red Raiders. He was named First Team All-Big XII by PFF in 2017, a two-time All-Big 12 Honorable Mention, and Second Team All-Big 12.
