The Toronto Argonauts re-signed linebacker Brian Harelimana and defensive lineman Thiadric Hansen, and signed defensive backs Caleb Nelson and Peyton Buckley on Monday.
Brian Harelimana is six foot two and weighs 228 pounds. The 30-year-old from Laval, Quebec, made five tackles on special teams in 14 games in 2025.
The Montreal Alouettes drafted Harelimana in the fourth round (33rd pick) of the 2020 CFL Draft. He played three seasons in Montreal with 14 tackles, nine tackles on special teams, three sacks, and one forced fumble in 27 games.
Next, he signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on June 21, 2023. In 2023, he made four tackles and four tackles on special teams in 12 games. The Roughriders released him on October 29, 2023. The Toronto Argonauts signed Harelimana on October 31, 2023. Harelimana played in the Eastern Final against the Montreal Alouettes.
Collegiately, Harelimana played three seasons at the University of Montreal (2017-19) with 102 tackles (72 solos, 30 assists), 12 tackles for loss, five sacks, one interception, and nine pass breakups in 19 games for the Carabins. He was named a three-time First Team RSEQ All-Star, First Team All-Canadian in 2018, and Second Team All-Canadian in 2019.
Thiadric Hansen is six foot two and weighs 254 pounds. The 33-year-old from Flensburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, made nine tackles on special teams in 11 games in 2025.
The Blue Bombers drafted Hansen in the first round (2nd pick) of the 2019 CFL European Draft. Hansen played four seasons in Winnipeg with 19 tackles, 21 tackles on special teams, four sacks, and two forced fumbles in 46 games. In 2023, he made three tackles in four games. He is a two-time Grey Cup champion.
The Toronto Argonauts signed Hansen on February 13, 2024. In 2024, he made four tackles, 10 tackles on special teams, and one sack in 12 games when the Argonauts won the 111th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Internationally, Hansen played seven seasons for the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes (GFL) with 527 tackles, 62 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, and 7 interceptions to become the team’s all-time leader in tackles. In addition, he played for the Potsdam Royals and the Wroclaw Panthers.
Caleb Nelson is six foot one and weighs 192 pounds. A native of Roseville, California, Nelson attended the Philadelphia Eagles rookie minicamp in 2024.
Collegiately, Nelson spent three seasons at North Dakota (2019-21) with 34 tackles (2019-21) with 34 tackles (24 solos, 10 assists), one tackle for loss, one interception, and 10 pass breakups in 25 games for the Fighting Hawks.
Then, he transferred to Sacramento State (2022-23) with 64 tackles (46 solos, 18 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions for 98 yards, one touchdown, 23 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick in 23 games for the Hornets.
In 2022, he had a career-high 37 tackles (29 solos, 8 assists), 1.5 tackles for loss, one interception for 98 yards, one touchdown, 13 pass breakups, and one blocked kick in 12 games. He was named Second Team All-Big Sky in 2022.
Peyton Buckley is six foot one and weighs 207 pounds. A native of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, Buckley attended the Washington Commanders rookie minicamp in 2025.
Collegiately, Buckley spent four seasons at Augustana University (2021-24) with 281 tackles (201 solos, 80 assists), 22 tackles for loss, three sacks, 12 interceptions for 257 yards, two touchdowns, 43 pass breakups, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, three punt returns for two yards, and 24 receiving yards in 48 games for the Vikings.
In 2024, he had a career-high 84 tackles (59 solos, 25 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one interception for 39 yards, and 10 pass breakups in 12 games. He was named a three-time First Team All-NSIC, NSIC Defensive Newcomer of the Year in 2021, NSIC Defensive Player of the Year in 2024, First Team All-American by CSC Academic and the Associated Press in 2023, and Second Team All-American by AFCA and D2CCA in 2023.
