The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are set to sign wide receiver Tommy Nield, offensive lineman Jarell Broxton, defensive lineman Jake Ceresna, and defensive back Jonathan Moxey on Sunday according to Farhan Lalji, Taylor Allen, and Dave Naylor. Free agents can officially sign with their new teams on February 10, 2026.

Tommy Nield is six foot three and weighs 203 pounds. The 26-year-old from Guelph, Ontario, signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on February 4, 2025. In 2025, he made 42 catches for 535 yards and five touchdowns in 13 games. In the Grey Cup playoffs, Nield made six catches for 75 yards and one touchdown. He caught a game-winning touchdown against the B.C. Lions in the Western Semi-Final.

The Toronto Argonauts drafted Nield in the fourth round (30th pick) of the 2021 CFL Draft. In four seasons with Toronto, Nield made 63 catches for 776 yards, two touchdowns, one carry for no yards, and one kick return for no yards in 26 games.

In 2025, he made 21 catches for 2101 yards and one touchdown in 11 games for the Argonauts in 2024. He missed most of the 2024 season with a hand injury. The Argonauts released him on February 3, 2025.

Collegiately, Nield played three seasons at McMaster University (2017-19) with 102 catches for 1,618 yards, ten touchdowns, and two kick returns for seven yards in 28 games for the Marauders.

Jarell Broxton is six foot three and weighs 230 pounds. The 32-year-old from Olney, Maryland, started at left tackle in 16 games for the B.C. Lions allowed 15 pressures. B.C.’s offense averaged 29.8 points per game, 430.2 net offense per game, 113.4 rushing yards per game, 325.4 passing yards per game, 59 touchdowns, and allowed 20 sacks. He was named a CFL West All-Star and the All-CFL Team in 2025.

The Baltimore Ravens signed Broxton as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2016. He spent two seasons on and off the practice squad. The Ravens released him on September 1, 2017. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Broxton on February 3, 2020, but the season was cancelled, and they released him on June 26, 2020.

The B.C. Lions signed Broxton on May 11, 2021. He played four games in his first two seasons. In 2023, he started 17 games. B.C.’s offense averaged 24.9 points per game, 364.0 net offense per game, 101 yards per game, 283.3 passing yards per game, 42 touchdowns, and allowed 43 sacks.

During his time at Baylor, the team went 21-5 in two seasons, winning the Big 12 Title in 2014 and the 2015 Russell Athletic Bowl. In 2015, he started 13 games. Baylor’s offense averaged 48.1 points per game, 616.2 yards per game, 289.5 passing yards per game, 326.7 rushing yards per game, and 86 touchdowns.

Jake Ceresna is six foot five and weighs 295 pounds. The 31-year-old from New Fairfield, Connecticut, made 16 tackles, one sack, and one interception in 11 games for the Edmonton Elks in 2025.

The Ottawa Redblacks signed Ceresna on May 25, 2016, and he was released on June 4, 2016. The New York Jets signed Ceresna as an undrafted free agent on August 14, 2016. He made two tackles (2 solos) in one preseason game for the Jets making two tackles (2 solo). The Jets released him on September 22, 2016.

The Redblacks re-signed Ceresna a short time later. In 2017, he made 18 tackles and two sacks in 14 games for the Redblacks. After the season, Ottawa traded him to the Edmonton Elks (then Eskimos) on February 8, 2018.

In 2018, Ceresna made 32 tackles, eight sacks, and one forced fumble in 18 games. Edmonton released him on January 2, 2019, and he signed with the New York Giants on the same day. In 2019, he made four tackles (3 solos, 1 assist) and one sack in four preseason games.

The Giants released him on August 31, 2019. The D.C. Defenders drafted Ceresna in the 2020 XFL Open Draft, but he re-signed with the Edmonton Eskimos on November 5, 2019. In 2021, he made 34 tackles and five sacks in 12 games.

In 2022, he made 31 tackles, ten sacks, and four forced fumbles in 12 games for the Elks in 2022. He was named to his first CFL All-Star and CFL West All-Star in 2022. In 2023, he made 48 tackles, 12 sacks, and one forced fumble in 18 games.

The Elks traded Ceresna to the Toronto Argonauts on January 15, 2024, along with the rights to running back Khalan Laborn for wide receiver Kurleigh Gittens Jr. and a 2024 seventh-round draft pick. Ceresna played four seasons in Edmonton with 145 tackles, 35 sacks, and six forced fumbles in 56 games.

In 2024, he made 29 tackles, eight sacks, and one forced fumble in 17 games. In the 111th Grey Cup against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Ceresna made one tackle as Toronto beat Winnipeg 41-24 to win its second Grey Cup in three seasons.

Collegiately, Ceresna played one season at Southern Connecticut State in 2012 with 19 tackles (9 solos, 10 assists) and one sack in 11 games for the Owls. Then, Ceresna transferred to Cortland State (2013-15) with 142 tackles (81 solos, 61 assists), 39.5 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, ten pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 33 games for the Red Dragons.

Jonathan Moxey is five foot ten and weighs 197 pounds. The 30-year-old from West Palm Beach, Florida, re-signed with the Tiger-Cats on February 8, 2025. In 2025, he made 40 tackles, one tackle on special teams, three interceptions, and one forced fumble in 18 games.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Moxey as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2017. In 2017, he made eight tackles (8 solos) in four preseason games. The Buccaneers released him on September 19, 2017. Next, the Arizona Cardinals signed Moxey on January 2, 2018. In 2018, he made one tackle (1 solo) in one preseason game. The Cardinals released him on May 10, 2019.

The Calgary Stampeders signed Moxey on June 24, 2019. Moxey played four seasons in Calgary with 70 tackles, 8 tackles on special teams, and three interceptions in 50 games. Moxey was named a CFL West All-Star in 2022 after making 26 tackles and two tackles on special teams.

In 2023, he made 18 tackles and one interception in 16 games. The Stampeders released Moxey on May 3, 2024. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Moxey on June 3, 2024. In 2024, he made 22 tackles, one tackle on special teams, one sack, and two interceptions in 14 games.

Collegiately, Moxey played four seasons at Boise State (2013-16) with 134 tackles (109 solos, 25 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, one sack, three interceptions, 34 pass breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, 12 kick returns for 258 yards, and one punt return for nine yards in 52 games for the Broncos.

In his final season, Moxey had 50 tackles (43 solos, 7 assists), 4.5 tackles for loss, 13 pass breakups, one punt return for nine yards, and 12 kick returns for 258 yards in 13 games. In 2016, he was named Second Team All-Mountain West Conference.
