The Columbus Aviators signed defensive back Tre’Von Jones on Saturday.
Tre’Von Jones is six foot one and weighs 200 pounds. A native of Warrenton, North Carolina, Jones was drafted by the Columbus Aviators in the 2026 UFL Draft.
In 2025, Jones played for the Vegas Knight Hawks of the Indoor Football League with 31 tackles (13 solos, 18 assists), one tackle for loss, five pass breakups, and one forced fumble in eight games, helping the Knight Hawks win the IFL Championship over the Green Bay Blizzard.
Collegiately, Jones spent four seasons at Elon University (2019-22) with 185 tackles (136 solos, 49 assists), 11.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, three interceptions for three yards, 15 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, 14 kick returns for 270 yards, and 43 punt returns for 324 yards in 38 games for the Phoenix.
In 2019, Jones was named FCS Freshman All-American by Phil Steele after finishing the season with a career-high 57 tackles (41 solos, 16 assists), 1.5 tackles for loss, one interception for six yards, five pass breakups, one forced fumble, and 11 punt returns for 76 yards in 10 games.
In 2021, he was named Third Team All-CAA and Third Team All-CAA by Phil Steele after finishing the season with 53 tackles (35 solos, 18 assists), five tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions for 27 yards, two fumble recoveries, five kick returns for 105 yards, and six punt returns for 34 yards in 11 games.
Then, he transferred to Minnesota in 2023 with 53 tackles (44 solos, 9 assists), 3.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two interceptions for 11 yards, and 10 pass breakups in 13 games for the Gophers.
