The Calgary Stampeders re-signed linebacker Kyle Wilson to a contract extension on Thursday.
Kyle Wilson is six foot and weighs 229 pounds. The 30-year-old from Wichita, Kansas, signed with the Calgary Stampeders on June 26, 2025. In Calgary, Wilson made 56 tackles, six tackles on special teams, and one forced fumble in 12 games.
The Philadelphia Eagles signed Wilson as an undrafted free agent on May 24, 2018. In 2018, he made five tackles (5 solos) in four preseason games. The Eagles released him on October 16, 2018. Next, he signed with the Los Angeles Chargers on November 7, 2018. Wilson made two tackles (2 solos) in three games. In the playoffs, Wilson made two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist).
In 2019, Wilson made 10 tackles (7 solos, 3 assists) in three preseason games. The Chargers released him on August 31, 2019. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Wilson on May 6, 2020, but the season was canceled due to COVID-19. Wilson re-signed with the Ticats on December 21, 2020.
In 2024, he led the team with 88 tackles, two sacks, one interception, and one forced fumble in 18 games. In 2025, he made three tackles in one preseason game. In the 2025 regular season, he made 11 tackles in two games. The Tiger-Cats released him on June 25, 2025.
Wilson played five seasons in Hamilton with 156 tackles, 10 tackles on special teams, two sacks, one interception, and three forced fumbles in 51 games. He helped Hamilton appear in the 108th Grey Cup in 2021 against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Collegiately, Wilson played two seasons at Hutchinson Community College (2014-15) with 172 tackles (64 solos, 108 assists), 22 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 23 games for the Blue Dragons.
Then, Wilson transferred to Arkansas State (2016-17) with 172 tackles (80 solos, 92 assists), 24 tackles for loss, four sacks, one interception, one pass breakup, and one forced fumble in 25 games for the Red Wolves.
