The Calgary Stampeders released long snapper Aaron Crawford on Wednesday.
Aaron Crawford is six foot four and weighs 266 pounds. The 39-year-old from Medicine Hat, Alberta, played three games for the Stampeders in 2025. He missed the majority of the season with a knee injury.
The Toronto Argonauts drafted Crawford in the sixth round (40th pick) in the 2012 CFL Draft. The Argonauts released him on June 20, 2012. Next, Crawford signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on October 3, 2012, and spent the rest of the season on the practice squad. On July 22, 2013, Crawford signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Blue Bombers released him on August 4, 2013.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed Crawford on August 21, 2013. He played seven seasons in Hamilton with one tackle and 23 tackles on special teams in 98 games and two Grey Cup appearances. Crawford signed with the Calgary Stampeders on February 2, 2021. In 2024, he made four tackles on special teams in 18 games. In five seasons, Crawford made one tackle and 16 tackles on special teams in 45 games.
Collegiately, Crawford played three seasons at St. Mary’s University (2009-11) with 71 tackles (40 solos, 31 assists), eight tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries in 13 games for the Huskies.
