The Columbus Aviators signed defensive backs Michael Lawson and Quindarious ‘Smoke’ Monday on Monday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Michael Lawson is five foot ten and weighs 185 pounds. A native of Patterson, California, Lawson played two seasons for the Southwest Kansas Storm of the Arena Football 1 league with 112 tackles (99 solos, 13 assists), four tackles for loss, 12 interceptions, one touchdown, 15 pass breakups, eight forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, two kick returns for 26 yards, and two touchdowns in 17 games.

Collegiately, Lawson spent two seasons at the City College of San Francisco (2016-17) with 89 tackles (67 solos, 22 assists), eight tackles for loss, five interceptions for 97 yards, two forced fumbles, one forced fumble, five pass breakups, one blocked kick, and one touchdown in 19 games for the Rams.

Next, he transferred to Lamar University in 2019 with 94 tackles (65 solos, 29 assists), 8.5 tackles for loss, five interceptions for 101 yards, one touchdown, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble, one blocked kick, and 17 punt returns for 179 yards in 11 games for the Cardinals. He was named a two-time First Team All-Southland Conference.

Then, he transferred to Western Illinois University (2020-21) with 151 tackles (102 solos, 49 assists), nine tackles for loss, three sacks, six interceptions for 73 yards, one touchdown, 12 pass breakups, six forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries, one punt return for 36 yards, and one touchdown in 17 games for the Leathernecks. He was named Second Team All-MVFC in 2021.

Quindarious ‘Smoke’ Monday is six foot three and weighs 199 pounds. The 23-year-old from Atlanta, Georgia, signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022. Monday suffered a knee injury and did not play in 2022. In 2023, he made six tackles (6 solo) in three preseason games. The Saints released him on August 29, 2023.

The Montreal Alouettes signed Monday on January 30, 2024. In 2024, Monday made three tackles and one tackle on special teams in one preseason game. The Alouettes released him on June 2, 2024. In 2025, he played for the Massachusetts Pirates of the Indoor Football League with 29 tackles (10 solos, 19 assists), 1.5 tackles for loss, one interception, and four pass breakups in five games. He re-signed with the Pirates on December 2, 2025.

Collegiately, Monday played four seasons at Auburn University (2018-21) with 171 tackles (105 solos, 66 assists), 17 tackles for loss, six sacks, five interceptions for 196 yards, three touchdowns, 13 pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick in 50 games for the Tigers. He was named Second Team All-SEC in 2020.
