The Toronto Argonauts extended the contract of linebacker Cameron Judge and signed running back Sam Hicks and defensive back Owen Goss on Monday. The Argonauts also released offensive lineman Darius Ciraco and defensive lineman Derek Parish. According to Dan Ralph, Judge restructured his deal and is now under contract through the 2027 season.
Cameron Judge is six foot two and weighs 234 pounds. The 31-year-old from Montreal, Quebec, re-signed with the Argonauts on January 16, 2025. In 2025, he made 79 tackles, four tackles for loss, three sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and one touchdown in 18 games. He was nominated for Toronto’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders drafted Judge in the first round (2nd pick) in the 2017 CFL Draft. Judge played three seasons in Saskatchewan with 102 tackles, 18 tackles on special teams, seven sacks, two interceptions, and two forced fumbles in 38 games. In 2021, Judge signed with the Toronto Argonauts, with 13 tackles and one tackle on special teams in ten games.
The Calgary Stampeders acquired Judge from the Toronto Argonauts on February 4, 2022, for Royce Metchie. In 2022, Judge made 78 tackles, two tackles on special teams, five sacks, two interceptions, two touchdowns, and two forced fumbles in 17 games. He was named a CFL All-Star and CFL West All-Star after the season.
In 2023, he made 90 tackles, one tackle on special teams, two sacks, five interceptions, one touchdown, and two forced fumbles in 17 games.
The Toronto Argonauts acquired Judge via a trade with the Calgary Stampeders for defensive lineman Folarin Orimolade on January 10, 2025. In 2024, he made 73 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble in 18 games for the Stampeders in 2024.
Collegiately, Judge played four seasons at UCLA (2013-16) with 46 tackles (30 solos, 16 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception for 12 yards, two pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 47 games for the Bruins.
Sam Hicks is five foot nine and weighs 190 pounds. The 25-year-old from Forth Worth, Texas, began his collegiate career at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2019, suiting up in one game for the Bulldogs. Next, he transferred to Saddleback College in 2021 with 13 carries for 28 yards, one rushing touchdown, 40 catches for 432 yards, four touchdowns, two kick returns for 46 yards, and one tackle (1 assist) in 10 games for the Bobcats.
Then, he transferred to Central Michigan University (2022-23) with 12 carries for 51 yards, one rushing touchdown, five catches for 20 yards, and 20 kick returns for 438 yards in 23 games for the Chippewas.
Hicks concluded his collegiate career at Abilene Christian University in 2024 with 211 carries for 1,333 yards, 45 catches for 341 yards, three touchdowns, 20 kick returns for 542 yards, and three tackles (2 solos, 1 assist) in 14 games for the Wildcats. He was named First Team All-UAC and Second Team All-American by the AP.
Owen Goss is six foot and weighs 202 pounds. A native of Hinsdale, Illinois, Goss spent four seasons at Colgate (2020-23) with 115 tackles (88 solos, 27 assists), two tackles for loss, three interceptions for 63 yards, one touchdown, 13 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and three blocked kicks in 28 games for the Raiders. He was named First Team All-Patriot League.
Then, he transferred to Arizona State in 2024 with 52 tackles (23 solos, 29 assists), four tackles for loss, one sack, two pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 11 games for the Wildcats.
Darius Ciraco is six foot four and weighs 292 pounds. The 29-year-old from Burlington, Ontario, played 12 games in 2025. Toronto’s offense averaged 25.2 points per game, 334.1 net offense per game, 304.6 passing yards per game, 51.6 rushing yards per game, 38 touchdowns, and allowed 56 sacks, finishing the season with a 5-13 record.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats drafted Ciraco in the first round (6th pick) of the 2018 CFL Draft. He played three seasons for Hamilton, including two trips to the Grey Cup in 46 games for the Ticats. Then, he signed with the Ottawa Redblacks in 2022, playing 16 games.
The Toronto Argonauts signed Ciraco on February 14, 2023. In 2023, he started 16 games. Toronto’s offense ranked second in offensive average points (29.3), second in offensive touchdowns (56), second in average net offense (377.8), fourth in average rushing yards (113.7), fourth in average passing yards (272.2), and first in the least number of sacks allowed (19).
The Argonauts re-signed Ciraco on February 2, 2024. In 2024, he started two games before an injury ended his season when the Argonauts beat the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 111th Grey Cup.
Collegiately, Ciraco played four seasons at the University of Calgary (2014-17) with one tackle (1 assist) in 39 games for the Dinos. He was named U Sports Second Team All-Canadian and Canada West All-Star in 2018.
Derek Parish is six foot one and weighs 241 pounds. The 27-year-old from Pearland, Texas, re-signed with the Argonauts on February 10, 2025. In 2025, he made 32 tackles and five sacks in 16 games.
The Jacksonville Jaguars drafted Parish in the seventh round (240th pick) of the 2023 NFL Draft. In 2023, he was a two-way player playing tight end and defensive end. He was targeted one time in three preseason games. The Jaguars released him on October 16, 2023.
The Toronto Argonauts signed Parish on January 22, 2024. In 2024, he made 21 tackles, five tackles on special teams, and six sacks in 18 games, helping the Argonauts win the 111th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Collegiately, Parish played five seasons at Houston (2018-22) with 158 tackles (80 solos, 78 assists), 33.5 tackles for loss, 17 sacks, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 51 games for the Cougars. He was named Second Team All-AAC in 2021.
