The B.C. Lions signed running back Tony Jones Jr. on Monday.
Tony Jones Jr. is five foot eleven and weighs 224 pounds. The 28-year-old from St. Petersburg, Florida, signed with the Arlington Renegades on May 7, 2025. In 2025, Jones Jr. had 17 carries for 66 yards and three catches for 13 yards in three games.
The New Orleans Saints signed Jones Jr. as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2020. He also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, and Arizona Cardinals. Jones Jr. played 26 career NFL games with 97 carries for 329 yards, three touchdowns, 17 catches for 96 yards, one kick return for five yards, and one tackle (1 solo) in 26 games.
Collegiately, Jones Jr. played four seasons at Notre Dame (2016-19) with 271 carries for 1,524 yards, 12 touchdowns, 27 catches for 273 yards, two touchdowns, 15 tackles (11 solos, 4 assists), and one forced fumble in 39 games for the Fighting Irish. He concluded his collegiate career in the Camping World Bowl against Iowa State, where he rushed for an 84-yard touchdown, which was the longest rush in Notre Dame’s bowl history and Camping World Bowl history.
