The Columbus Aviators released defensive lineman Prince Emili, linebacker Amari Burney, and defensive backs Shyheim Carter, Henry Black, and Israel Mukuamu on Friday according to the UFL Transactions page.

Prince Emili is six foot one and weighs 295 pounds. The 27-year-old from New City, New York, re-signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on January 23, 2025. In 2025, he made 16 tackles (13 solos, 3 assists) and two sacks in seven games. The Columbus Aviators drafted him in the 2026 UFL Draft.

The Buffalo Bills signed Emili as an undrafted free agent on May 16, 2022. He played two regular-season games for the Bills in 2022 with three tackles (3 solos) before spending part of the season on the practice squad. The Bills released him on October 4, 2022.

Next, Emili signed with the New Orleans Saints on November 16, 2022, and spent the rest of the season on the practice squad. In 2023, Emili made three tackles (1 solo, 2 assists) in three preseason games before the Saints released him on August 29, 2023.

Then, Emili signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on December 20, 2023. In 2024, Emili made 24 tackles (9 solo, 14 assists), three tackles for loss, three sacks, and one pass breakup in nine games. In the playoffs, Emili made seven tackles (4 solos, 3 assists), two tackles for loss, and two sacks, helping the Brahmas to the UFL Championship against the Birmingham Stallions.

The Brahmas released Emili on June 19, 2024, and he signed with the Atlanta Falcons on June 20, 2024. Emili made seven tackles (4 solos, 3 assists) in three preseason games. The Falcons released him on August 27, 2024.

Collegiately, Emili played five seasons at Penn (2017-19, 2021) with 162 tackles (89 solos, 73 assists), 30.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, three pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick in 37 games for the Quakers.

He was named a two-time First Team All-Ivy League in 2019 and 2021. In 2019, Emili made 65 tackles (43 solos, 22 assists), 14 tackles for loss, and 4.5 sacks in 10 games. In 2021, Emili made 49 tackles (19 solos, 30 assists), 13 tackles for loss, five sacks, two pass breakups, one forced fumble, and one blocked kick in 10 games. 

Amari Burney is six foot two and weighs 228 pounds. The 25-year-old from St. Petersburg, Florida, was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in the sixth round (203rd pick) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He spent two seasons in Las Vegas with 32 tackles (20 solos, 12 assists), three tackles for loss, one sack, and one forced fumble in 24 games. The Raiders released him on May 12, 2025.

The Tennessee Titans acquired Burney via waivers on May 13, 2025. In 2025, Burney made nine tackles (6 solos, 3 assists) in three preseason games. The Titans released him on August 25, 2025. The Columbus Aviators drafted him in the 2026 UFL Draft.

Collegiately, Burney spent five seasons at Florida (2018-22) with 223 tackles (121 solos, 102 assists), 15 tackles for loss, seven sacks, four interceptions for two yards, 16 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 58 games for the Gators. He was a four-time SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.

Shyheim Carter is five foot ten and weighs 194 pounds. The 27-year-old from Kentwood, Louisiana, was drafted by the Columbus Aviators in the 2026 UFL Draft.

The New York Jets signed Carter as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2020. There were no preseason games played in 2020 due to COVID-19. Carter spent the majority of the season on the practice squad for the New York Jets and Atlanta Falcons.

Carter also spent time with the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans. In 2024, Carter made seven tackles (5 solos, 2 assists) in three preseason games. The Titans released him on August 27, 2024.

The Birmingham Stallions signed Carter on January 14, 2025. In 2025, he made 17 tackles (10 solos, 7 assists) and one pass breakup in five games. In the UFL playoffs, he made one fumble recovery.

Collegiately, Carter played four seasons at Alabama (2016-19) with 101 tackles (57 solos, 44 assists), six tackles for loss, three interceptions for 89 yards, two touchdowns, 21 pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 50 games for the Crimson Tide.

In 2017, he made seven tackles (2 solos, 5 assists) and one pass breakup in 14 games when Alabama won the National Championship.

Henry Black is six foot and weighs 204 pounds. The 29-year-old from Shreveport, Louisiana, signed with the San Antonio Brahmas on October 8, 2024. In 2025, he made 21 tackles (12 solos, 9 assists) and two tackles for loss in 10 games.

The Brahmas released him on July 31, 2025, and he signed with the Atlanta Falcons on the same day. Black made nine tackles (4 solos, 5 assists) and one pass breakup in three preseason games. The Falcons released him on August 26, 2025. The Columbus Aviators drafted Black in the 2026 UFL Draft.

The Green Bay Packers signed Black as an undrafted free agent on April 30, 2020. He played two seasons in Green Bay with 46 tackles (34 solos, 12 assists), two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 25 games. He became a free agent after the 2021 season.

Black also spent time with the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons. The Indianapolis Colts signed Black on September 13, 2022. In 2023, he played three preseason games for the Colts with 13 tackles (8 solos, 5 assists). The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Black off of Indianapolis’s practice squad on November 21, 2023, and he returned to Indianapolis on December 26, 2023.

Collegiately, Black played four seasons at Baylor (2016-19) with 119 tackles (77 solos, 42 assists), four tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions for 20 yards, six pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 52 games for the Bears.

Israel Mukuamu is six foot four and weighs 215 pounds. The 26-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina, was drafted by the Columbus Aviators in the 2026 UFL Draft.

The Dallas Cowboys drafted Mukuamu in the sixth round (227th pick) of the 2021 NFL Draft. He played four seasons in Dallas with 42 tackles (29 solos, 13 assists), three interceptions for 20 yards, one fumble recovery, and four pass breakups in 50 games.

In 2025, he made six tackles (3 solos, 3 assists) and one pass breakup in three preseason games. The Cowboys released him on August 26, 2025. The Carolina Panthers signed Mukuamu on September 8, 2025. Mukuamu appeared in one game for the Panthers. They released him on November 18, 2025.

Collegiately, Mukuamu spent three seasons at South Carolina (2018-20) with 86 tackles (64 solos, 22 assists), four tackles for loss, seven interceptions for 135 yards, one touchdown, 10 pass breakups, and one forced fumble in 31 games for the Gamecocks. He was named Third Team All-SEC by Phil Steele and Second Team All-SEC by the Associated Press in 2019.
