The Houston Gamblers released offensive lineman Zachary Thomas on Wednesday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Zachary Thomas is six foot five and weighs 305 pounds. The 27-year-old from San Diego, California, was drafted by the Houston Gamblers in the 2026 UFL Draft.
The Chicago Bears drafted Thomas in the sixth round (186th pick) of the 2022 NFL Draft. He also spent time with the Los Angeles Rams, New England Patriots, Houston Texans, and the Indianapolis Colts. Thomas has played 17-career NFL games. The San Francisco 49ers signed Thomas on January 21, 2026.
Collegiately, Thomas spent five seasons at San Diego State University (2017-21), playing 49 games, of which 31 were starts. He was named Second Team All-Mountain West in 2020. He was also named First Team All-Mountain West and the Pro Football Focus Mountain West Team of the Year in 2021 after San Diego State averaged 342.8 yards per game, 167.9 passing yards per game, 174.9 rushing yards per game, 47 touchdowns, and allowed 24 sacks.
