The Calgary Stampeders re-signed wide receiver Erik Brooks to a two-year contract extension and signed linebacker R.J. Moten on Monday.

Erik Brooks is five foot seven and weighs 171 pounds. The 26-year-old from Corona, California, in 2025 made 51 catches on 69 targets for 824 yards, two touchdowns, two carries for nine yards, 31 kick returns for 665 yards, 33 punt returns for 335 yards, and one touchdown in 18 games.

The Calgary Stampeders signed Brooks on May 2, 2024. In 2024, Brooks made three catches for 53 yards, one touchdown, and 13 kick returns for 287 yards in six games before an injury ended his season.

Collegiately, Books spent five seasons at Fresno State (2019-23) with 128 catches for 1,548 yards, 10 touchdowns, one kick return for 35 yards, 20 punt returns for 172 yards, and two tackles (2 solo) in 52 games for the Bulldogs.

In 2023, Brooks made 60 catches for 788 yards, five touchdowns, one kick return for 35 yards, and 19 punt returns for 174 yards in 13 games for the Fresno Bulldogs. He was named an All-Mountain West Honorable Mention.

R.J. Moten is six foot and weighs 229 pounds. The 23-year-old from Delran, New Jersey, attended the Philadelphia Eagles rookie minicamp in 2024. The Michigan Panthers signed Moten on May 13, 2025. In 2025, Moten made one tackle (1 solo) in two games.

The Panthers released him on June 3, 2025, and re-signed him on July 4, 2025. They released him on July 28, 2025. The New England Patriots signed Moten on July 29, 2025. He made three tackles (3 solos) in three preseason games. The Patriots released him on August 22, 2025. The Panthers re-signed Moten on September 2, 2025, but the Panthers were relocated to Columbus, and Moten became a free agent.

Collegiately, Moten played two seasons at Michigan (2021-22) with 65 tackles (48 solos, 17 assists), three tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions, six pass breakups, and one kick return for 28 games for the Wolverines. He was named a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.

Then, he transferred to Florida (2023-24) with 31 tackles (14 solos, 17 assists), four tackles for loss, half a sack, and one pass breakup in 18 games for the Gators. Moten is the son of Ron Moten, who was a sixth-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in 1987.
