The Dallas Renegades selected quarterbacks Luis Perez and Austin Reed in the Quarterback Draft, and selected offensive lineman Sam Tecklenburg, and defensive tackles Keondre Coburn and Siaki Ika in the Regional College Allocation on Monday.
Luis Perez is six foot three and weighs 220 pounds. The 31-year-old from San Diego, California, re-signed with the Renegades on January 27, 2025. In 2025, Perez completed 224 of 313 passes (71.6%) for 2,298 yards, nine touchdowns, five interceptions, 15 carries for 55 yards, and one rushing touchdown in 10 games. The Renegades re-signed Perez on October 9, 2025.
The Los Angeles Rams signed Perez as an undrafted free agent on May 15, 2018. In 2018, he completed 8 of 15 passes (53.3%) for 43 yards and one interception in one preseason game. The Rams released him on September 18, 2018. In 2019, Perez played for the Birmingham Iron (AAF), completing 135 of 258 passes (52.3%) for 1,461 yards, 5 touchdowns, 6 interceptions, and 7 carries for 24 yards in eight games before the league ceased operations.
Shortly after the AAF folded, Perez spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions. In 2020, Perez was drafted by the Los Angeles Wildcats (XFL) but was traded to the New York Guardians. He completed 38 of 61 passes (62.3%) for 418 yards, 3 touchdowns, 1 interception, and 4 carries for 20 yards in five games before the league shut down in 2020 due to the pandemic.
In 2021, Perez played for the Jousters (TSL), completing 56 of 94 passes (59.6%) for 655 yards, 7 touchdowns, 4 interceptions, and 4 carries for 36 yards in six games, leading the Jousters to the Mega Bowl in a loss to the Linemen.
Then, the New Jersey Generals (USFL) signed Perez on April 1, 2022. He completed 124 of 173 passes (71.7%) for 1,200 yards, nine touchdowns, one interception, 12 carries for -11 yards, and 1 touchdown in nine games, leading the Generals to the North Divisional title, but they would lose the North Divisional semifinals against the Philadelphia Stars.
Perez started the season with the Vegas Vipers (XFL), completing 79 of 121 passes (65.3%) for 900 yards, 8 touchdowns, 5 interceptions, and 5 carries for 26 yards in six games.
Next, the Vipers traded Perez to the Arlington Renegades. Perez completed 69 of 102 passes (67.6%) for 730 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions, and 8 carries for 35 yards in three games. In the XFL playoffs, Perez completed 45 of 63 passes (71.4%) for 577 yards, 6 touchdowns, and 0 interceptions in two games, leading the Renegades to win the XFL Championship over the D.C. Defenders.
In 2024, Perez completed 225 of 336 passes (67%) for 2,309 yards, 18 touchdowns, four interceptions, and seven carries for 16 yards in 10 games. Perez led the league in passing yards, completions, completion percentage, and touchdowns.
The Renegades released him on August 6, 2024, and he signed with the Los Angeles Chargers on August 7, 2024. Perez played two preseason games, completing 18 of 32 passes (56.2%) for 139 yards. The Chargers released him on August 27, 2024.
Collegiately, Perez played two seasons at Southwestern College (2013-14), completing 242 of 360 passes (67.2%) for 2,234 yards, 23 touchdowns, 4 interceptions, 41 carries for -30 yards, and 1 touchdown in 16 games for the Jaguars.
Then, he transferred to Texas A&M University-Commerce (2016-17), completing 665 of 985 passes (68%) for 78 touchdowns, 16 interceptions, 56 carries for -87 yards, 1 touchdown, and punted the ball one time for 33 yards in 28 games for the Lions.
Perez finished as the all-time leader in completions (665), passing yards (8,325), and passing touchdowns (78). In addition, he helped the Lions win the 2017 National Championship, two playoff appearances, and one Lone Star Conference Championship.
Austin Reed is six foot one and weighs 214 pounds. The 25-year-old from St. Augustine, Florida, signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2024. In 2024, Reed completed 12 of 16 passes (75%) for 123 yards, one touchdown, and eight carries for one yard in three preseason games. He spent the season on the practice squad.
In 2025, Reed completed 11 of 17 passes (64.7%) for 107 yards and four carries for -1 yard. The Bears released him on August 25, 2025.
Collegiately, Reed began as a redshirt freshman at Southern Illinois in 2018. He did not play a game for the Salukis. Next, he transferred to West Florida (2019-21), completing 486 of 868 passes (56%) for 7,502 yards, 78 touchdowns, 19 interceptions, 101 carries for 323 yards, 10 rushing touchdowns, and two tackles (2 solos) in 26 games for the Argonauts. He was named GSC Offensive Freshman of the Year and helped the Argonauts win the NCAA Division II championship in 2019.
Then, he transferred to Western Kentucky (2022-23), completing 678 of 1,073 passes (63%) for 8,084 yards, 71 touchdowns, 22 interceptions, 133 carries for 324 yards, 12 rushing touchdowns, and punted the ball one time for 37 yards in 26 games for the Hilltoppers. Reed was named Second Team All-C-USA in 2022, C-USA Newcomer of the Year in 2022, and the C-USA Honorable Mention in 2023.
Sam Tecklenburg is six foot four and weighs 310 pounds. The 28-year-old from Plano, Texas, re-signed with the Brahmas on September 3, 2024. In 2025, he started 10 games. San Antonio averaged 13.6 points per game, 231.8 yards per game, 125.50 passing yards per game, 106.3 rushing yards per game, and 14 touchdowns.
The Carolina Panthers signed Tecklenburg as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He spent four seasons with the Panthers, playing 17 regular-season games, and spent the rest of his tenure on the practice squad.
The San Antonio Brahmas signed Tecklenburg on February 28, 2024. In 2024, he played 10 games, of which 8 were starts. In 2024, San Antonio’s offense ranked fourth in total yards (2,966), rushing yards (962), yards per game (296.6), third in passing yards (2,004), and tied for fifth in touchdowns (24).
Collegiately, Tecklenburg played five seasons at Baylor (2015-19), starting as a tight end for two seasons with three catches for 40 yards and one touchdown before becoming an offensive lineman in 2017, playing center. He was named Second Team Academic All-Big 12 in 2018.
Keondre Coburn is six foot two and weighs 332 pounds. The 25-year-old from Tyler, Texas, was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the sixth round (194th pick) in the 2023 NFL Draft. He also spent time with the Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans, and the Las Vegas Raiders. He played two seasons with 22 tackles (10 solos, 12 assists) and one tackle for loss in 20 games.
Collegiately, Coburn spent five seasons at Texas (2018-22) with 96 tackles (52 solos, 44 assists), 14 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one blocked kick in 51 games for the Longhorns. He was named Second Team All-Big 12 in 2022.
Siaki Ika is six foot three and weighs 335 pounds. The 25-year-old from Salt Lake City, Utah, was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round (98th pick) of the 2023 NFL Draft. He also spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.
He played four career NFL games for the Browns in 2023. In the 2023 preseason, Ika made six tackles (4 solos, 2 assists) and one sack in four preseason games.
Collegiately, Ika spent two seasons at LSU (2019-20) with 22 tackles (9 solos, 13 assists), 2.5 tackles for loss, and one sack in 17 games for the Tigers. In 2019, he made 17 tackles (6 solos, 11 assists) and 1.5 tackles for loss when the Tigers won the National Championship.
Then, he transferred to Baylor (2021-22) with 49 tackles (28 solos, 21 assists), 8.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and three pass breakups in 25 games for the Bears. He was named a two-time First Team All-Big 12, Third Team All-American by Phil Steele, and the Big 12 Newcomer of the Year in 2021.
