The Toronto Argonauts signed linebacker Jalen Rayam and released running back Miyan Williams on Thursday, as Williams is pursuing an NFL opportunity according to the CFL Transactions page.

Jalen Rayam is six foot one and weighs 220 pounds. The 25-year-old from Alabaster, Alabama, was drafted by the Toronto Argonauts in the fifth round (46th pick) of the 2025 CFL Draft. He did not play in 2025 due to a lower-body injury.

Collegiately, Rayam played four seasons at the University of Alabama-Birmingham (2018, 2020-22) with 18 tackles (7 solos, 11 assists), 1.5 tackles for loss, and one sack in 20 games for the Blazers. Next, he transferred to Middle Tennessee State (2022-23) with 38 tackles (19 solos, 19 assists), three tackles for loss, and half a sack in 14 games for the Blue Raiders. Then, he transferred to UTEP in 2024 with one tackle (1 solo) in one game for the Miners.

Miyan Williams is five foot nine and weighs 226 pounds. The 24-year-old from Cincinnati, Ohio, went undrafted in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Toronto Argonauts signed Williams on January 8, 2025. In 2025, he had 21 carries for 102 yards and 16 catches for 90 yards in four games.

Collegiately, Williams played four seasons at Ohio State (2020-23) with 258 carries for 1,554 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 18 catches for 143 yards in 27 games for the Buckeyes. In 2023, he had 49 carries for 158 yards, three touchdowns, and four catches for 42 yards in six games.

He helped the Buckeyes win the 2021 Sugar Bowl, the 2022 Rose Bowl, and the Peach Bowl. He was named Third Team All-Big Ten in 2023.
