Calgary Stampeders running back Jeshrun Antwi announced his retirement on Tuesday.

Jeshrun Antwi is six foot and weighs 220 pounds. The 28-year-old from Calgary, Alberta, signed with the Calgary Stampeders on February 11, 2025. In 2025, Antwi had 16 carries for 56 yards and two kick returns for 32 yards in 10 games.

“Part of the journey is the end,” said Antwi. “The last five years have been a dream. Thank you to Coach Dave Dickenson and the rest of the Calgary Stampeders coaching staff for allowing me to fulfill a lifelong goal of representing the horse. It was an honour and a privilege to wear the Calgary Stampeders jersey and I could not think of a better way to end my career.”

The Montreal Alouettes drafted Antwi in the sixth pick (48th pick) of the 2019 CFL Draft, but returned to Calgary for his final season. In 2023, Antwi had 39 carries for 229 yards, one touchdown, 11 catches for 75 yards, one kick return for eight yards, and made eight tackles on special teams in 18 games, helping them win the Grey Cup.

In 2024, Antwi had 10 carries for 20 yards, five catches for 21 yards, one punt return for two yards, and 11 tackles on special teams in 15 games. The B.C. Lions acquired Antwi on October 2, 2024, for a 2025 third-round draft pick. Antwi had nine carries for 73 yards, one tackle, and one tackle on special teams in three games.

Antwi spent four seasons in Montreal with 191 carries for 1,025 yards, one touchdown, 52 catches for 342 yards, one kick return for eight yards, two tackles, and 25 tackles on special teams in 61 games.

Collegiately, Antwi played five seasons at the University of Calgary (2015-19) with 366 carries for 2,233 yards, 18 touchdowns, 55 catches for 479 yards, five touchdowns, three kick returns for 44 yards, and three tackles (3 assists) in 38 games for the Dinos. In 2019, Antwi had 53 carries for 279 yards and made seven catches for 57 yards, helping the Dinos win the Vanier Cup.
