The Ottawa Redblacks signed defensive lineman Theodore ‘T.J.’ Jackson Jr. on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Theodore ‘T.J.’ Jackson Jr. is six foot one and weighs 282 pounds. The 23-year-old from Millbrook, Alabama, signed with the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2025. The Seahawks released him on May 6, 2025.
Collegiately, Jackson Jr. spent four seasons at Troy (2020-23) with 94 tackles (42 solos, 52 assists), 22.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, four pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 36 games for the Trojans.
In 2022, he had a career-high 55 tackles (22 solos, 33 assists), 14.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, two pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in 14 games as he was named First Team All-Sun Belt. In 2023, he was named Second Team All-Sun Belt after finishing the season with 27 tackles (17 solos, 10 assists), seven tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one pass breakup in 12 games.
Then, he transferred to West Virginia in 2024 with 40 tackles (21 solos, 19 assists), 14 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery in 13 games for the Mountaineers. He was named First Team All-Big 12, Fourth Team All-American by Phil Steele, and Third Team All-Big 12 by the College Football Network.
