The Ole Miss Rebels (13-1) took on their rival Georgia Bulldogs (12-2) on Thursday night in the CFP Playoff Quarterfinals at the Allstate Sugar Bowl from Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ole Miss kicker Lucas Carneiro made two field goals in the first quarter to give the Rebels a 6-0 lead.

In the second quarter, Georgia got on the board when Gunner Stockton scored a 12-yard touchdown for a 7-6 lead. Ole Miss came back when Trinidad Chambliss threw a three-yard touchdown pass to Luke Hasz. They did not get the two-point conversion but took a 12-7 lead.

Georgia came back with Gunner Stockton scoring a one-yard touchdown, and the defense created a turnover with Daylen Everette scoring a 47-yard touchdown for a 21-12 lead at halftime.

In the third quarter, Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy scored a seven-yard touchdown to make it 21-19. A 37-yard field goal by Georgia kicker Peyton Woodring made it 24-19 heading into the fourth quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Kewan Lacy scored a six-yard touchdown, plus they got the two-point conversion to take a 27-24 lead. Next, quarterback Trinidad Chambliss threw a 13-yard touchdown pass to Harrison Wallace III to extend their lead to 34-24.

With their backs against the wall, Georgia’s Gunner Stockton threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Zachariah Branch, and kicker Peyton Woodring made a 24-yard field goal to tie the game 34-34.

In the closing seconds, Ole Miss kicker Lucas Carneiro made a 47-yard field goal for a 37-34 lead with 49 seconds left. With one second left, Ole Miss would get a safety, and the Rebels defeated the Bulldogs 39-34. They will play the Miami Hurricanes in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at 7:30 pm on ESPN.

Ole Miss had 473 yards of offense (362 yards passing, 111 yards rushing), 22 first downs, and the team was penalized four times for 48 yards. Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss completed 30 of 46 passes (65.2%) for 362 yards, two touchdowns, and four carries for 13 yards.

Running back Kewan Lacy had 22 carries for 99 yards, two rushing touchdowns, and two catches for 12 yards. Wide receiver Harrison Wallace III made nine catches for 156 yards and one touchdown, while Luke Hasz made one catch for three yards.

Kicker Lucas Carneiro made 3 of 3 field goals (100%) with a long of 56 yards, and made two extra points. The defense made 71 tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, six pass breakups, and one fumble recovery.

Georgia’s offense had 355 yards (231 yards passing, 124 yards rushing), 23 first downs, and the team was penalized four times for 38 yards. Quarterback Gunner Stockton completed 17 of 30 passes (56%) for 215 yards, one touchdown, 13 carries for 20 yards, and two rushing touchdowns.

Running back Nate Frazier had 15 carries for 86 yards, while Gunner Stockton had 13 carries for 20 yards and two rushing touchdowns. Wide receiver Zachariah Branch made eight catches for 67 yards and one touchdown.

Kicker Peyton Woodring made 2 of 3 field goals (66.7%) with a long of 37 yards, and made four extra points. The defense made 68 tackles, three tackles for loss, seven pass breakups, one fumble recovery, and one touchdown.
