The Montreal Alouettes signed running back Quail Conley, re-signed wide receiver Alexander Hollins, and released defensive back Dionte Ruffin on Friday according to the CFL Transactions page.

Quail Conley is five foot ten and weighs 211 pounds. The 23-year-old from Fresno, California, signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. In 2025, Conley had seven carries for 28 yards and one rushing touchdown in two preseason games. The Bengals released him on August 25, 2025.

Collegiately, Conley spent three seasons at Utah Tech (2020-22) with 338 carries for 1,758 yards, 13 rushing touchdowns, 50 catches for 447 yards, three touchdowns, three kick returns for 24 yards, and two tackles (2 solos) in 27 games for the Trailblazers. In 2022, he was named First Team All-WAC with 186 carries for 1,095 yards, eight rushing touchdowns, and 12 catches for 89 yards in 11 games.

Next, he transferred to San Jose State University in 2023 with 131 carries for 842 yards, nine rushing touchdowns, and 27 catches for 269 yards in 13 games for the Spartans. He was named Fourth Team All-Mountain West by Phil Steele.

Then, he transferred to Arizona in 2024 with 150 carries for 745 yards, eight rushing touchdowns, 39 catches for 245 yards, one touchdown, two kick returns for 37 yards, and one tackle (1 assist) in 12 games for the Wildcats.

Alexander Hollins is six foot and weighs 175 pounds. The 29-year-old from Yazoo City, Mississippi, signed with the Montreal Alouettes on July 1, 2025. In 2025, he made eight catches for 163 yards in five games.

The Minnesota Vikings signed Hollins as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2019. In 2019, Hollins made two catches for 46 yards in five games, of which one was a start. On December 28, 2020, the Cleveland Browns signed Hollins off of Minnesota’s practice squad. The Browns released him on December 21, 2021.

The B.C. Lions signed Hollins as a free agent on February 17, 2022. In 2022, Hollins made 13 catches for 117 yards and one touchdown in four games. In 2023, Hollins made 78 catches for 1,173 yards, nine touchdowns, and one carry for 11 yards in 18 games. He was named a CFL West All-Star after the season.

In 2024, he made 61 catches for 937 yards and six touchdowns in 16 games. The Lions released him on January 30, 2025. The Edmonton Elks signed Hollins on April 28, 2025. Hollins did not play in the preseason in 2025. The Elks released him on May 31, 2025.

Collegiately, Hollins played two seasons at Copiah-Lincoln Community College (2015-16) with 26 catches for 474 yards, five touchdowns, two carries for 12 yards, and 16 kick returns for 357 yards in 17 games for the Wolves.

Then, he transferred to Eastern Illinois University (2017-18) with 126 catches for 1,784 yards, 23 touchdowns, eight carries for 62 yards, and four kick returns for 57 yards in 22 games for the Panthers. He was named First Team All-OVC and First Team All-American by Phil Steele in 2018.

Dionté Ruffin is five foot ten and weighs 177 pounds. The 26-year-old from Kenner, Louisiana, in 2023 made 11 tackles in eight games. In the Eastern Semi-Final against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Ruffin made two tackles.

The Chicago Bears signed Ruffin as an undrafted free agent on May 14, 2021. In 2021, Ruffin made five tackles (3 solos, 2 assists) and one pass breakup in two preseason games. The Bears released him on August 16, 2021. The Calgary Stampeders signed Ruffin on February 1, 2022. In 2022, he made 39 tackles, one tackle on special teams, and one interception in nine games for the Stampeders.

The Montreal Alouettes signed Ruffin as a free agent on December 12, 2022. In 2023, he made 23 tackles and one forced fumble in 12 games, helping the Alouettes win the 110th Grey Cup. The Alouettes re-signed him on December 23, 2023. In 2024, he made 56 tackles, one tackle on special teams, five interceptions, and one touchdown in 18 games.

Collegiately, Ruffin played four seasons at Western Kentucky (2017-20) with 78 tackles (62 solos, 16 assists), one tackle for loss, one interception for 28 yards, 25 pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 48 games for the Hilltoppers. He was named Second Team All-Conference USA in 2020.
