The Toronto Argonauts re-signed wide receiver Jake Herslow through the 2027 season, along with wide receivers Tyler Kahmann and David Ungerer III, and linebacker Isaac Darkangelo on Wednesday.
Jake Herslow is six foot and weighs 185 pounds. The 27-year-old from Virginia Beach, Virginia, made 59 catches for 756 yards, nine touchdowns, one carry for 10 yards, 13 kick returns for 309 yards, two missed field goal returns for 47 yards, and four tackles in 18 games.
The Seattle Seahawks signed Herslow as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2022. He attended their rookie minicamp before getting released on May 13, 2022. Next, Herslow signed with the Houston Roughnecks (XFL) on January 1, 2023, but was released before the season started.
Then, Herslow signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders on April 28, 2023. He attended the Roughriders training camp and made the practice squad. The Roughriders released him on August 19, 2023.
The Toronto Argonauts signed Herslow on June 14, 2024. In 2024, he made two catches for 55 yards, two kick returns for 67 yards, three tackles, and two tackles on special teams in one game. The Argonauts went on to win the 111th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Collegiately, Herslow played three seasons at Old Dominion (2017-19) with 11 catches for 109 yards, and two punt returns for -2 yards in 30 games for the Monarchs. Then, Herslow transferred to Houston in 2021 with 30 catches for 389 yards, five touchdowns, and two tackles (2 assists) in 11 games for the Cougars. In the 2021 Birmingham Bowl, Herslow caught five passes for 65 yards and one touchdown in Houston’s 17-13 win over Auburn.
Tyler Kahmann is six foot and weighs 207 pounds. The 25-year-old from Haysville, Kansas, signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 9, 2025. In 2025, he made two catches for eight yards in three preseason games, making the practice squad. The Colts released him on August 28, 2025. The Toronto Argonauts signed Kahmann to the practice squad on September 15, 2025. The Argonauts released him on October 25, 2025.
Collegiately, Kahmann spent six seasons at Emporia State (2019-24) with 281 catches for 3,661 yards, 54 touchdowns, completing one pass for 37 yards, and seven tackles (7 solos) in 47 games for the Hornets. Kahmann was named a two-time First Team All-MIAA, First Team All-American, Second Team All-American by D2CCA, Don Hansen, and the Associated Press, and was named a Team Captain in 2024.
David Ungerer III is five foot ten and weighs 171 pounds. The 30-year-old from Pullman, Washington, made 53 catches for 653 yards, two touchdowns, and eight punt returns for 100 yards in 18 games in 2025.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats drafted Ungerer III in the second round (11th pick) of the 2019 CFL Draft. In 2022, he made 16 catches for 225 yards and one touchdown in 14 games. He played three seasons in Hamilton (2019, 2021-22) with 33 catches for 456 yards and two touchdowns in 38 games.
The Toronto Argonauts signed Ungerer III on March 9, 2023. In 2023, he made 35 catches for 491 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games. In 2024, he made 32 catches for 425 yards, one touchdown, one carry for nine yards, five punt returns for 45 yards, and one tackle in 12 games, helping the Argonauts win the 111th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Collegiately, Ungerer III played five seasons at Idaho (2014-18) with 116 catches for 1,225 yards, ten touchdowns, one carry for nine yards, one touchdown, 14 kick returns for 232 yards, and 36 punt returns for 341 yards for one touchdown in 34 games for the Vandals.
Isaac Darkangelo is six foot one and weighs 230 pounds. The 25-year-old from Brighton, Michigan, made 60 tackles, 22 tackles on special teams, two sacks, and four forced fumbles in 18 games.
The Detroit Lions signed Darkangelo as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2023. The Lions released him on May 24, 2023. The Las Vegas Raiders signed Darkangelo on August 23, 2023. In 2023, Darkangelo made one tackle (1 solo) in one preseason game. The Raiders released him on November 7, 2023. The Michigan Panthers (UFL) signed Darkangelo on December 21, 2023, but he was released on March 10, 2024.
The Toronto Argonauts signed Darkangelo on May 6, 2024. He played two preseason games with six tackles and six tackles on special teams to earn a spot on the practice squad. The Argonauts released him on August 18, 2024.
Collegiately, Darkangelo played two seasons at Northern Michigan (2018-19) with 78 tackles (33 solos, 45 assists), eight tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 12 games for the Wildcats. He was named Second Team All-GLIAC in 2019.
Then, Darkangelo transferred to Illinois (2020-22) with 78 tackles (46 solos, 32 assists), 7.5 tackles for loss, one sack, and one fumble recovery in 26 games for the Fighting Illini.
