The Montreal Alouettes signed linebacker Diwun Black on Monday according to the CFL Transactions page.
Diwun Black is six foot three and weighs 240 pounds. A native of Jackson, Mississippi, Black signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2025. He attended training camp and was released on August 2, 2025.
Collegiately, Black spent one season at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in 2019 with 46 tackles (26 solos, 20 assists), 8.5 tackles for loss, one interception for 34 yards, and five pass breakups in 11 games for the Bulldogs. He helped lead the Bulldogs to win the 2019 NJCAA National Championship.
Next, he transferred to the University of Florida (2021-22) with seven tackles (6 solos, 1 assist) and one tackle for loss in 14 games for the Gators. Then, he transferred to Temple University (2023-24) with 52 tackles (36 solos, 16 assists), 15.5 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, three pass breakups, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 19 games for the Owls.
In 2024, he made 23 tackles (19 solos, 4 assists), six tackles for loss, three sacks, three pass breakups, and two forced fumbles in eight games.
