The B.C. Lions released linebacker Josh Woods on Monday.
Josh Woods is six foot two and weighs 234 pounds. The 27-year-old from Ontario, California, made 62 tackles, three tackles on special teams, and one sack in 14 games.
The B.C. Lions signed Woods as a free agent on October 8, 2021. In 2021, he made one tackle in two games. A year later, he made 23 tackles, 12 tackles on special teams, and two sacks in 17 games. In 2023, he made 45 tackles, nine tackles on special teams, two interceptions, and one touchdown in 18 games. In 2024, Woods made 21 tackles and one tackle on special teams in four games.
Collegiately, Woods played five seasons at UCLA (2015-19) with 111 tackles (69 solos, 42 assists), 11.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, one interception for six yards, two pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries in 32 games for the Bruins.
