The Alabama Crimson Tide (11-3) visited Memorial Stadium on Friday to take on the Oklahoma Sooners (10-3) in the first round of the College Football Playoff from Norman, Oklahoma.

The Crimson Tide did not get off to a good start, trailing 17-0 before storming back to tie the game at halftime. They only gave up seven points in the second half, while scoring another 17 points to beat the Sooners 34-24 to advance to the Rose Bowl, where they will play Indiana on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at 4 pm on ESPN.

Alabama’s offense had 260 yards (232 yards passing, 28 yards rushing), 12 first downs, and the team was penalized four times for 46 yards. Quarterback Ty Simpson completed 18 of 29 passes (62%) for 232 yards, two touchdowns, and six carries for -22 yards.

Running back Daniel Hill had nine carries for 43 yards and one rushing touchdown. Wide receiver Lotzeir Brooks made five catches for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Kicker Conor Talty made two field goals with a long of 40 yards and four extra points. The defense made 68 tackles, eight tackles for loss, five sacks, five pass breakups, one interception, and one touchdown.

Oklahoma’s offense had 362 yards (307 yards passing, 55 yards rushing), 18 first downs, and the team was penalized five times for 50 yards. Quarterback John Mateer completed 26 of 41 passes (63.4%) for 307 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, 19 carries for 15 yards, and one rushing touchdown.

Running back Tory Blaylock had 11 carries for 36 yards and five catches for 36 yards, while John Mateer had 19 carries for 15 yards and one rushing touchdown. Wide receiver Deion Burks made seven catches for 107 yards, one touchdown, while Isaiah Sategna III made two catches for 17 yards, and one touchdown.

Kicker Tate Sandell made 1 of 3 field goals (33.3%) with a long of 51 points, and three extra points. The defense made 50 tackles, seven tackles for loss, four sacks, and two pass breakups.
