The Montreal Alouettes re-signed defensive back Najee Murray to a one-year contract extension through the 2026 season on Wednesday.
Najee Murray is five foot eight and weighs 194 pounds. The 31-year-old from Steubenville, Ohio, re-signed with the Alouettes on December 2, 2024. In 2025, he made 77 tackles, two sacks, two pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, and two interceptions in 16 games.
Murray signed with the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent on May 15, 2017. In 2017, he made two tackles (2 solos) in four preseason games. The Montreal Alouettes signed Murray as a free agent on April 25, 2018.
In 2023, he made 33 tackles, one interception, and one forced fumble in six games, helping the Alouettes win the 110th Grey Cup over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Alouettes re-signed Murray on January 20, 2024. In 2024, Murray made 44 tackles in 11 games.
In seven seasons, Murray made 240 tackles, six tackles on special teams, three sacks, nine interceptions, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries in 66 games.
Collegiately, Murray played one season at Ohio State in 2012 with three tackles (3 solos) in six games for the Buckeyes. Then, he transferred to Kent State (2014-16) with 101 tackles (72 solos, 29 assists), 5.5 tackles for loss, two interceptions for 23 yards, 28 pass breakups, one forced fumble, four fumble recoveries, and one blocked kick in 31 games for the Golden Flashes. He was named First Team All-MAC in 2016.
