The Ottawa Redblacks re-signed offensive lineman Dino Boyd to a contract extension through the 2026 season on Monday.

Dino Boyd is six foot four and weighs 300 pounds. The 29-year-old from Newark, New Jersey, started 18 games at left tackle in 2025 and was named the team’s nominee for Most Outstanding Lineman.

In 2025, Ottawa’s offense averaged 22.1 points per game, 338.5 net offense per game, 269.3 passing yards per game, 93.6 rushing yards per game, 41 touchdowns, and allowed 47 sacks, finishing 4-14 for the season.

The Kansas City Chiefs signed Boyd as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2019. He also spent time with the Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed Boyd on June 18, 2021. He spent several weeks on the practice squad before they released him on July 26, 2021. The Ottawa Redblacks signed Boyd on September 21, 2021. In five seasons, Boyd’s played 66 games.

In 2023, Boyd played 18 games, of which 17 were starts. Ottawa finished the 2023 season ranked sixth in offense average points (20.7), tied seventh in offensive touchdowns (33), ninth in total net offensive yards (318.8), second in average rushing yards (127.6), and ninth in average passing yards (220.4).

In 2024, Boyd started 12 games before suffering a season-ending injury in Week 15. Ottawa’s offense averaged 366.9 net yards per game, 24.6 points per game, 83.7 rushing yards per game, 303.1 passing yards per game, 38 touchdowns, and tied sixth in sacks allowed (40). The Redblacks finished third in the Eastern Division and lost to the Toronto Argonauts in the Eastern Semi-Final.

Collegiately, Boyd played three seasons at Rhode Island (2014, 2016-17), playing left tackle in 24 games for the Rams. In 2017, Rhode Island’s offensive line protection helped Rams quarterbacks Tyler Harris and JaJuan Lawson throw for a combined 2,573 yards, the eighth-highest single-season total in team history. In addition, the offensive line allowed JaJuan Lawson to complete .597 percent of his passes, the fourth-best single-season percentage in team history.

Then, Boyd transferred to Cincinnati in 2018, playing left tackle in 13 games for the Bearcats, earning First-Team All-American Athletic Conference honors.
