The Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed defensive tackle Cam Lawson to a two-year contract extension through the 2027 season on Wednesday. Lawson was set to be a free agent in February.
Cam Lawson is six foot three and weighs 290 pounds. The 27-year-old from Caledon, Ontario, made 21 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble in 16 games in 2025.
The Montreal Alouettes drafted Lawson in the second round (16th pick) of the 2021 CFL Draft. In 2021, Lawson dressed for 14 games with no stats. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers acquired Lawson in a trade with the Montreal Alouettes on May 3, 2022, for a ninth and 18th overall selection in the 2022 CFL Draft. In 2022, Lawson made 12 tackles and one sack in 18 games.
In 2023, Lawson made eight tackles, five sacks, and one interception in 15 games. In 2024, he made eight tackles, five sacks, and one interception in 15 games.
Collegiately, Lawson played four seasons at Queen’s University (2016-19) with 74 tackles (63 solos, 22 assists), 19.5 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, and three fumble recoveries in 32 games for the Gaels. He was named a two-time Second Team OUA All-Star (2017-18).
