The Montreal Alouettes and quarterback Davis Alexander agreed to a three-year contract extension through the 2028 season on Tuesday. Alexander was set to hit the free agent market in February.
Davis Alexander is six foot and weighs 195 pounds. The 26-year-old from Gig Harbor, Washington, re-signed with the Alouettes on November 27, 2024. In 2025, he completed 158 of 218 passes (72.4%) for 2,204 yards, 10 touchdowns, three interceptions, 12 carries for 110 yards, and one rushing touchdown in eight games. He set the CFL record for most consecutive victories to begin a career at 11-0.
He led the Alouettes to appear in the 112th Grey Cup against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. In the Grey Cup, Alexander completed 22 of 34 passes (64.7%) for 284 yards, three interceptions, and two carries for 14 yards.
Alexander went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Montreal Alouettes signed Alexander as a free agent in 2022. In 2022, Alexander completed 8 of 13 passes (62%) for 89 yards, five carries for 22 yards, and one touchdown in 13 games. In 2023, Alexander completed 6 of 8 passes (75%) for 56 yards and one carry for no yards in two games when the Alouettes won the Grey Cup.
In 2024, he completed 105 of 151 passes (69.5%) for 1,347 yards, six touchdowns, two interceptions, 24 carries for 166 yards, and three touchdowns in seven games, going 4-0 as a starter.
Collegiately, Alexander played five seasons at Portland State (2017-21) completing 708 of 1,223 passes (58%) for 9,215 yards, 63 touchdowns, 31 interceptions, 362 carries for 1,258 yards, 25 touchdowns, two catches for 48 yards, one punt for 41 yards inside the 20-yard line, and two tackles (1 solo, 1 assist) in 41 games for the Vikings.
